Our Early Career Sales Engineering (BEST) Program is a 4-month technical sales development program for Recent College Graduates that focuses on creating market share by strategic selling Johnson Controls’ HVAC products and services to commercial customers. In this program you will have a chance to apply your technical engineering knowledge and business acumen to work with customers to better understand their product and project needs by being the subject matter expert. As part of the program, you will participate in a 4-month training and development program combining classroom, field orientation, and on the job training. You will learn our mechanical equipment and service offerings, customer relationship techniques and leadership skills in preparation for supporting customers in your territory alongside the sales team. You will be prepared to consult with architects, engineers, and building owners on product selections; partner with and learn from internal experts and deliver on business goals. You will be a critical part of a local sales team and a national network of sales professionals. #BEST

As a Project Engineer, you will join a project team tasked with the responsibility for all technical and engineering aspects of your project. You will lead daily coordination between our clients, trade partners, engineers, architects, and our employees. The Project Engineer is responsible for planning, scheduling, predicting, and managing all the technical tasks to assure accuracy, proper resources, and quality for the lifecycle of the project.
Responsibilities:
Assist in development of project plan as requested
Collaborate with the Project Manager(s) in purchasing activities including scoping and take-offs
Prepare and forward submittals; Confirm submittal complies with plans/specs
Support the development and updating of the project schedule and subcontractor detail schedules
Monitor and expedite material deliveries ensuring all deliveries conform with the project schedule
Assist the Project Manager and Superintendent in the coordination of drawings
Draft change orders. Solicit prices from subcontractors and suppliers. Perform scope take-off and estimate costs
Aid in closing out of the project; includes assembling manuals and other warranties for turnover to the owner and preparing final payment documents for subcontractors
Required Qualifications:
Undergraduate or graduate degree in engineering, architecture, construction management or a degree in a related discipline
3-5 years experience in a project engineer, or similar, role in the construction industry
Demonstrated knowledge of scheduling, cost engineering, subcontract coordination, and general project administration
Computer proficient, including Microsoft Office products
Preferred Qualifications:
Working for an electrical contractor on large scale construction
Familiarity reading drawings and specifications
Knowledge of Primavera
Detail oriented with ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

Responsible for the production and modification of design calculations, technical reports, engineering plans and specifications for assigned projects. This position consults with the project manager to perform research, development, calculations, design and delivery. Applies engineering techniques, procedures and design criteria for complex and cross-discipline projects. Leverages technical knowledge and experience to address design related issues or concerns, working closely with the project manager through creative problem solving, interactions with clients and by completing tasks to meet the project schedule. Develops conceptual and detailed designs and calculations to support the project completion using current drawing and technical tools, programs and software. May mentor, train and review work of junior engineer staff and provide constructive feedback. Knowledge of OCS field construction and techniques
Experience in Microsoft Office (Outlook Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Experience with AutoCAD and MicroStation
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Experience in the design of catenary systems and support structures for heavy rail, commuter rail, high-speed rail, light rail, streetcar and trolley power distribution systems including:
Preparing OCS profile design and calculations
Performing structural steel analysis and design capability

Performing reinforced concrete foundation design
OCS construction phasing and staging
Production of design drawings on screen in CAD
Development of OCS construction specifications
Estimating OCS construction costs
