Accounting & Finance Manager 

Responsibilities:

• Managing and overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department.
• Monitoring and analyzing accounting data and produce financial reports or statements.
• Establishing and enforcing proper accounting methods, policies and principles.
• Coordinate and complete annual audits.
• Provide recommendations.
• Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions.

Requirements: 

• Possess at least a Bachelor's Degree Accounting or LCCI(optional)
• Proven working experience as Accounting Manager, Accounting Supervisor or Finance Manager.
• If without Bachelor Degree, min. 6 years of proven related field working experience is required
• Advanced computer skills on MS Office, accounting software and databases.
• Good knowledge on SQL Accounting Software(ERP Edition) is an added advantage
• Relevant experience in Time Management & Payroll Software is advantage
• Proficient in manipulating large amounts of data.
• Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong leadership skills, proactive and result-oriented.

Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Cost Accounting Manager to be in Bukit Minyak, Penang.

Here is a glimpse of what you'll do:

• Directs the development, administration, and standards necessary to maintain financial records & controls in compliances with GAAP and SOX
• Establishes or recommends to management strategies, objectives, and policies for company to improve the overall organizational cost efficiency. Directs preparation of budgets with site operations and prepares necessary supporting documentation and justification.
• Generates & prepares 12 month rolling forecast on quarterly basis.
• Prepares detailed financial analysis and projections by customer/project and site level.
• Month – End Closing Activities – Review & coordinate with personnel from finance department & outside department to meet the month end close deadline. This includes the review of sales & cost analysis, journal entries, and reconciliation of subsidiary ledgers.
• Supports the audit of company accounts (internal & external audits)
• Performs ad-hoc simulation / analysis by customer/project or site level based on the requirement/request from top management or operations personnel’s.
• Oversee the overall cycle count process to ensure accurate methodology / process is followed by site operations. Investigate cycle count variances and work with the inventory management team to resolve issues & performs monthly cycle count audits.
• Analyze trends in cost variances, production volumes, and material usage and implement timely adjustments. Troubleshoot and research unexplained inventory transactions.
• Focus on improvement including all facets of cost accounting, inventory control, variance analysis, gross margin analysis, forecasting & system improvement. Initiate process improvement projects to update transactional, financial, and reporting processes.

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

• Functional knowledge, education background, or relevant working experience of 8 - 10 years required.
• Demonstrates functional, technical, and people and/or process management skills as well as customer (external and internal) relationship skills. Demonstrates detailed expertise in complex functional/technical areas or broad breadth of knowledge in multiple areas.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints.
• Professional Accounting and Six Sigma certification would be added as an advantage.

Job Summary

What a typical day looks like:

• Through discussion with stakeholders and other research, develop a knowledge of the business and any relevant compliance requirements.
• Plan and schedule audit projects, aligning with the audit team and stakeholders.
• Use a systematic and disciplined method to assess risk and key controls for each audit, develop the scope based on that risk assessment, and develop and perform appropriate audit procedures to validate whether those risks are being managed.
• Prepare audit documentation including the risk assessment, workpapers and audit reports.
• Use data analysis techniques to help identify issues and support findings with appropriate evidence.
• Communicate effectively within the team and with Management, including presenting the conclusions of their work, listening to other points of view and influencing Management to take effective action where needed.
• Be agile in their approach, willing to adapt quickly to assist others and ensure the overall success of the project.
• Interact as required with external auditors and co-sourcing auditors.
• Stay abreast of relevant laws and other regulatory issues that impact corporate governance and control.  Identify emerging risks that will impact the company.
• Supervise and review the work of more junior staff within each audit project.
• Complete the project or assigned work on time and within budget.
• Thrive in a global team, working with others with diverse backgrounds and cultures.
• Have the ability to travel both domestically and internationally up to 40% of the time.
• Add value to the company by having regular communications with relevant stakeholders to provide insights.  Prepare and deliver training to various audiences in the company as required.
• Participate or lead other ad hoc or non-audit projects as required to support different initiatives in the organization.

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

• Work experience: 12+ years.
• Areas of Knowledge: Good knowledge of Auditing, General Accounting and Finance, other operational processes, prior working experience in MNC or US manufacturing companies or Big 4 audit or consulting background are desirable
• College Degree:  Accounting, Finance or Business and Administration, CIA certification preferred but not essential. 
• Languages: strong written and verbal skills in English. Ability to read and speak Chinese is highly desirable.
• IT skills: Adequate knowledge of Microsoft Office and main ERP systems (mainly BaaN).
• Ability to travel up to ~40% and flexibility in schedule including occasion out-of-hours meetings.
