About the Role
One of the most significant changes in the Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) Industry has been the adoption of digital ordering and payment systems. Gone are the days of standing in line to place an order and pay with cash or a card. Today, customers can place orders and pay through apps. They can also order from the comfort of their own home and have their needs solved through delivery.

KFC Asia Central is looking for a highly effective collaborator, with deep expertise in restaurant technology solutions, to lead the regional codification, adoption and governance of technology standards to enable the accelerated adoption of technology for more efficient and effective restaurant operations in APAC.
What Success Looks Like
The scope of this role covers solutions across Point of Sale, Back of House (Cash, Labour, Inventory, Ordering) Management, Kitchen and Production Management, Digital Routines and IoT.
The Asia Central region is a growth engine for KFC globally and includes over 10 countries with more than 40,000 employees. It has a wide range of maturity levels when it comes to the use of technology to drive restaurant operations.

MAKE A DIFFERENCE… with your role’s responsibilities
1. Codifying and Maintenance of Technical Standards (30%)
- Partner with the regional Operations, Development and Technology teams to capture and codify existing features and functionality into standards, and identify opportunities for future standards;
- Partner with the global technology standards team to ensure regional needs are incorporated into global standards, and vice versa;
- Partner with key vendors to identify gaps to standards that they need to address, as well as opportunities to adopt new standards from their solution set which will drive improvements in restaurant operations;
- Develop a framework of standards anchored to maturity levels, with the aim of ensuring FZ’s meet minimum standards but have a path to move up the maturity levels to be best-in-class;
- Partner with the cybersecurity team to ensure that restaurant technology standards are aligned with global security standards;
- Act as a subject matter expert for franchisees in relation to the meaning and interpretation of standards;
- Constantly review and update standards to ensure that a culture of continuous improvement exists within the region.
2. Partnering & Evangelizing (50%)
- Communicate and drive adoption of technology standards through active collaboration with FZ’s through a variety of channels (playbooks, summits, 1:1 relationships, meetings, etc.);
- Be subject matter expert (advisor and consultant) for BMU’s and FZ’s in relation to helping them advance the adoption of standards;
- Drive innovation by incubating the testing of new standards in conjunction with FZ’s, and ensuring that innovations which are created in one market are rapidly codified and shared with other markets to drive adoption;
- Lead and develop a culture of best practice sharing in the region to constantly improve the base levels of digital adoption in operations.
3. Governance (20%)
- Develop a reporting regime to capture markets level of adherence to standards, and partner with franchisees to elevate adherence market by market;
- Define metrics to track adoption progress and standards maturity for executive leadership;
- Identify gaps and conflicts in markets adherence to standards and make recommendations to address them;
- Support the adoption of security standards by ensuring the FZ’s are aware of the standards, and facilitating the strengthening of the relationship between the FZ’s and GTRM;
- Shepherd standards changes through a formal governance process;
- Review recommended vendor solutions adherence to standards, and where gaps exist make recommendations to address them

- Bachelor's degree in Technology, Business Administration or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years of above restaurant management experience in Operations or Technology function, preferably in the area of process, standards or execution;
- 10+ years of experience in a multi-franchise environment, with demonstrated experience in FZ engagement;
- Experience developing effective, pragmatic standards frameworks;
- Ability to bridge gaps of understanding between business and technical partners
- Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills
- Passionate self-motivator that thrives on results;
- Tech savvy and business focussed – able to identify practical technological solutions to operational business issues;
- Innovative mindset, able to identify opportunities and solutions in a constraint-based environment;
- Highly developed collaboration and organisational skills;
- Experience in running programs which run over extended periods of time and with multiple stakeholders;
- Strong communicator who can explain complex technical concepts to both executives and business stakeholders in a digestible fashion
- Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated experience of using soft skills and relationship for influencing multiple stakeholders;
- Ability to succeed in a fast-paced environment, deliver high quality performance on multiple, simultaneous strategic, value-added tasks and priorities

Reporting to the Chief Digital and Technology Officer (Asia Central), this person will work closely with a great support network:
- CDTO & Operations leader in setting overall regional strategy and roadmap;
- (Global) Technical Standards Manager to ensure the regions needs are part of the overall global roadmap and delivered to the timelines required;
- Other regional standards leaders to ensure standards form a cohesive ecosystem across Customer Tech, Restaurant Tech and Data;
- Global GTRM team to understand security standards applicable to restaurant technology;
- Liaise with markets and Franchise partners to understand their technology requirements to support scalable technology solutions.
