The Mission: Help Lucanet evolve from a financial powerhouse into a
cloud-native, GenAI-fueled SaaS leader.
We aren’t just "using" AI; we are rebuilding our DNA with it. As a (remote) Principal Java Software Engineer, you won’t just be grinding out tickets, you’ll be an architect of our ecosystem. You’ll be pairing with cutting-edge tools like
Claude Code and
Cursor to bypass the boilerplate and focus on solving complex architectural challenges.
What you'll do:
- Architecting the Future: Design and build scalable core services that serve as the backbone of the Lucanet ecosystem.
- AI-Augmented Engineering: You’ll pair-program daily with AI assistants to accelerate development, focusing your energy on high-level logic, security, and system integrity. 🤖
- End-to-End Craftsmanship: We believe in "You build it, you run it." You’ll own your code quality through Developer-Led Testing (DLT) - from unit tests to E2E. 🧪
- AI-Driven Development: Pair-program daily with AI tools (Claude Code/Cursor) to implement features, refactor code, and accelerate development while remaining accountable for the final output's correctness and security.
- Collaborative Innovation: Work shoulder-to-shoulder with Product, DevOps, and Architecture to turn big ideas into production-ready reality.
What you bring to the table
- The Tech Stack: You are an experienced Backend Engineer in Java (familiarity with Node.js or Python is a plus)
- Cloud Expertise: Hands-on experience with AWS services, including Lambda, API Gateway, S3, DynamoDB, and CloudWatch
- Architecture and API Design: Ability to design RESTful APIs with OpenAPI/Swagger and a strong understanding of system design for scalability and observability.
- Modern Tooling: Comfort and willingness to use AI coding assistants and infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform.
- DevOps oriented mindset (terraform)
- Full-stack Capability is a plus: Experience building frontends using modern frameworks such as Angular (RxJS, NgRx) or React (Hooks, Redux/RTK
