Full Stack Engineer

About the Role

A healthcare SaaS company is looking for a Senior Full Stack Engineer to join their core product team. Their cloud-based platform transforms the daily operations of medical practices - streamlining practice management and patient relationships across thousands of healthcare providers.

This is a high-ownership role. You'll lead end-to-end feature development, drive architecture decisions, and mentor junior engineers - all in a fully remote, cross-functional team that ships fast and takes quality seriously.

What You'll Do

Lead full stack feature development from concept to deployment, with a strong focus on security and scalability

Drive architecture and design decisions to ensure solutions meet healthcare industry standards

Collaborate with product managers, designers, and stakeholders to align technical solutions with business goals

Mentor junior developers, promoting continuous learning and innovation within the team

Implement automated testing, continuous integration, and continuous deployment to uphold code quality

Contribute to roadmap planning with insights on technical feasibility, timelines, and resources

Stay up-to-date with industry trends and apply new knowledge to enhance the product

What We're Looking For

6+ years of professional experience, with at least 2 years in a senior engineering role

Extensive experience with Symfony, including Doctrine ORM and key components (Security, Event Dispatchers)

Advanced understanding and practical experience with Domain-Driven Design (DDD)

Proficient in writing and maintaining unit and integration tests

Solid understanding of React.js, with the ability to improve frontend as needed

Strong experience with MySQL - design, optimisation, and management

Experience with Docker for managing development environments

Familiarity with GitLab CI/CD pipelines for automated build, test, and deployment

Security awareness for frontend and backend development, particularly when handling sensitive data

Strong problem-solving skills and clear communication across technical and non-technical stakeholders

Nice to Have

Experience with SaaS products and/or the healthcare industry

Working Model

Fully remote (EU)

Full-time: Monday-Friday, 09:00-18:00 with 1-hour lunch break

1-week onboarding at the Munich HQ to meet the team

Previously held a senior role in a product-focused SaaS company.

Can provide concrete examples of mentoring junior developers (e.g., leading code reviews, pair programming, knowledge sharing sessions).

Has a public profile (e.g., GitHub, blog) showing contributions to Symfony projects or articles on DDD.

Experience transitioning a legacy system or part of a monolith to a DDD-based architecture.

Red Flags

Located outside of the EU.

Unwilling to travel to Munich for the mandatory 1-week onboarding.

Less than 6 years of total professional software engineering experience.

No professional experience with the Symfony framework (e.g., only Laravel or other PHP frameworks).

Cannot articulate or provide examples of applying Domain-Driven Design (DDD).
