Purpose of Job
Provides vision and strategic direction to the marketing, communications and major donor staff of WWF-Malaysia. The incumbent is also responsible for generating all of WWF-Malaysia’s income, managing relationships with all our key audiences and protecting and enhancing our reputation. Works closely with the Executive Director/CEO and other members of the Senior Management Team (SMT) to ensure strong integration of marketing, communications and major donor activities with those of Conservation and Operations.
Key Outputs
- A well developed and implemented marketing, communications and major donor strategy that leverages the unique strengths of WWF-Malaysia to achieve the ambitious targets for growth in revenues and number of donors and strengthen brand recognition and awareness among key audiences, especially using digital and mass media.
- Efficient and organised marketing, communications and major donor activities with all objectives met.
- Increase in the number of public presence by the organisation and strategic presence of the Executive Director/CEO for campaigns / programs, environmental leadership forums, fundraising, etc.
- Lead the marketing, communications and major donor team in all efforts to raise income consistent with the WWF-Malaysia’s annual budget, both through existing sources and in the development of new funding channels.
Specifications
- A Master’s degree or a minimum of Bachelor’s degree in management, business administration or marketing, or a relevant field.
- At least 10 years professional experience in leadership role, with demonstrated success in managing teams.
- Proven success in developing and executing innovative and highly leveraged marketing strategies, including direct senior level experience in branding and communications.
- Proven editorial judgement and thorough knowledge of on and off-line media markets.
- Experience in Implementing marketing strategies with leverage the power of online media and audience engagement.
- Knowledge and experience of the not-for-profit sector, preferably of environmental non-government organizations.

- Proven ability to lead and deliver outcomes in a diverse environment without having direct oversight or control.
- Demonstrated leadership ability, including the ability to build a team of highly motivated and well qualified staff, and to foster the integration of diverse, multi-disciplinary actors into focused initiatives addressing clear targets.
- Strong strategic and analytical skills, including a talent for crystallizing key strategic options for discussion and decision.
- Excellent diplomatic and communication skills, including an ability to work and communicate effectively with a board spectrum of individuals (individual donors, business leaders, public figures, WWF staff), within a board range of cultural environments.
- A strong team player capable of integrating diverse activities within an evolving environment; must be comfortable with change and leading change within an organizational framework.
- Excellent written and oral skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia with strong presentation skills (written & verbal).
