Responsibilities
- Manage and monitor in-house operations
- Develop logistics process improvement and strategies
- Accountable for order fulfillment process from order generation, pick/pack to distribution
- Lead a team of warehouse staffs to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of operations during receiving, put away, picking, packing and dispatch process
- Develop strong working partnership with internal departments and logistics services provider to smooth the workflow and optimize the overall cost of warehouse
- Continuous improvement on the operating procedures to ensure operational and cost effectiveness and efficiency
- P&L and budget responsibility
- Account management of 3PL principals and business development including costing of services and quoting
Requirements
- Tertiary educated with relevant certificate in Logistics or related disciplines
- At least 8 years’ experience in warehouse operations with at least 3 years at managerial level (preferably in FMCG or Pharmaceutical industry)
- Solid experience in managing performance by metrics
- Solid experience in quality management (i.e. ISO, GDP, GSDP, etc.)
- Excellent leadership with good problem-solving, communication & interpersonal skills
- Strong planning and analytical skills with business acumen
- Customer-focus, self-motivated and able to work under pressure
What is needed in the role :
- Someone that has the ability to communicate with all levels of the staff – will have to work with warehouse staff, members of corporate sales and marketing, finance, legal as well as directly with principals and customers
- Proven track record of developing all levels of management (line staff, admin and supervisory)
- Initiative to meet with and negotiate with principals (front line logistics staff up to Area Logistics management)
- Ability to meet and negotiate with principals and end customers to resolve issues and complaints
- Must take a hands on approach on the warehouse floor when necessary to understand and resolve day to day operational problems
- Strong understanding of operations – QA, regulatory, pick and pack, storage, inventory, P&L, transportation along with both 3pl and distribution models
- Ability to communicate well internally with sales, marketing, finance, HR and legal and externally with customers
- Process improvement experience, specifically in warehouse operation – must be able to provide and demonstrate leadership at all times
