BSSB Furniture BHD SDN is a British owned and governed, volume manufacturer of ‘Quality Upholstered, Bedroom Furniture. Our key products are Bedsteads, were we are recognised as on of the largest manufacturers and global exporters of such products. Our factory and offices are based in Telok Gong - Port Klang, Selangor. Perfectly located near to the port, where we ship in excess of 10k containers of product per calendar month. BSSB also have a Furniture Innovation Division - of which has grown to become a leader in the design and integration of mechanical/electrical technology.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare PO & check delivery order thru MYBS system
- Responsible to purchase materials from overseas and local vendors.
- Preparing and maintaining Purchasing Budgets
- Develop sourcing strategy for responsible purchaser
- Responsible for identification, selection, evaluation and management of suppliers
- Develop cost reduction strategies, ensure cost savings and cost management of all purchases.
- Contribute to margin improvement through material cost down and supply chain improvement.
- Responsible for negotiation on prices within the requirement of quality, service, credit term and operation efficiency to meet company objectives
- Liaise with suppliers on pricing, quality delivery.
- To ensure all packaging materials to be used are sufficient and to keep track of all materials requested from factory.
- Verification of quality as per specification and quantity of purchases receive at warehouse
- Sourcing of new suppliers for better pricing and quality
- Analyze suppliers performance and trend of purchasing
- Liaise with the government agencies on sales tax exemption and import permits
- Lead a team of purchasers in daily functioning
- Manage and maintain good filing system and proper records of purchase, quotation, source and suppliers
- Ensure all purchase order are place with pricing and terms and conditions that are negotiated and agreed by management
- Get in material on time to meet production schedule.
- Develop procedures for coordination of supply chain management with others functional areas such as sales, finance, production and quality assurance
- Prepare and responsible for the purchasing, warehouse and inventory reports.
- Any other tasks assigned from time to time from superior.
REQUIREMENTS
- Candidate must possess at least Diploma, Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma, Bachelor’s Post, Professional Degree Business Study/Administration Management or equivalent’
- Professional knowledge in purchasing (sourcing/supply chain management) or equivalent.
- Preferably Senior Executives/Managers specializing in Purchasing, Inventory, Material & Warehouse Management.
- At least 5 years working experience in the related field is required for this position.
- Very good command of written and spoken English and Mandarin and Bahasa Malaysia.
- Someone who is hands on although at managerial level with high level of integrity
