REQUIREMENT :
Degree in Environmental, Health, and Safety / Occupational Safety, and Health / Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical) or Science.
More than years related working experience. Prior work experience in fab environment will be an added advantage.
MUST be a registered Safety & Health Officer (SHO) & DOSH registered Authorized Gas Tester. An AELB registered Radiation Protection Officer (RPO) will be an added advantage.
Subject matter expert of Malaysia regulations (OSHA Act 1994, FMA 1967, Poison Act 1952) and EHS Management System (ISO14001, OHSAS 18001).
In depth knowledge in occupational safety programs (e.g. HIRAC, equipment safety, Lock-out Tag-out, process safety, confined space), contractor safety (e.g. working at height, permit to work, powered industrial truck) and Ergonomics programs (e.g. Manual Material Handling, Workstation/Tool/Layout Design & Set Up, Musculoskeletal Disorder (MSD) Management).
Well versed in emergency response, gas monitoring system and fire protection systems.
Practical hands-on experience in contractor management.
Project management skills with proficiency to multitask and effective communication skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for safety, ergonomics, safety suggestion and EHS training programs for employees and contractors. This position is required to perform risk assessment, execute periodic audits/inspections, manage safety suggestion system and harden training program. The incumbent will also be liaising with external organization on Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) compliance matters.
- Primary focus areas: Safety, Ergonomics, safety suggestion system and EHS training programs for employees and contractors
- Establish, maintain and enhance EHS programs to ensure compliance with legal and company EHS requirement.
- Conduct program audits, site inspection and near miss/incident/injury including follow-up, closure & communication.
- Analyze data, conduct trend analysis, apply the problem-solving methodology and formulate the recommendation to drive continual improvement of EHS management system performance and prevent recurrence of near miss, incident, and injury.
- Conduct design review and hazard assessment for new equipment, parts, and material (process and non-process).
- Enhance EHS training program (material, delivery method).
- Stay abreast of emerging regulations and evaluate the impacts to the organization.
- Maintain an effective communication and collaboration with internal and external interested parties, including government agencies (DOSH, DOE, BOMBA, and Department of Pharmacy).
