Job Summary
The Procurement Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the sourcing, purchasing, and supply chain management of automotive parts to ensure timely availability, cost efficiency, and quality compliance. This role supervises the procurement team, manages supplier relationships, and ensures that purchasing activities align with company policies and operational requirements.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Supervise daily procurement operations, including purchasing, order processing, and supplier coordination
- Source and evaluate suppliers of automotive parts based on price, quality, reliability, and delivery performance
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to achieve cost savings and favorable agreements
- Ensure timely procurement and delivery of auto parts to support warehouse and operational needs
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with warehouse and operations teams to prevent stockouts or overstocking
- Review and approve purchase orders in accordance with company policies and budget controls
- Maintain and update supplier database and procurement records
- Evaluate supplier performance and implement corrective actions when necessary
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procurement procedures, and regulatory requirements
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction in the procurement aspect
- Lead, train, and evaluate work performance of existing and new direct reports
- Handle supplier issues, discrepancies, and claims related to quality or delivery
Job Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related field
- Minimum of 35 years of experience in procurement, preferably in automotive parts or related industry
- At least 12 years of supervisory or leadership experience
- Strong knowledge of automotive parts, suppliers, and market trends is an advantage
- Proficient in procurement systems, ERP, and Microsoft Office applications
- Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
