Job Overview:

You are responsible for leading the Projects team and ensuring every client implementation is delivered to the highest standard.

Your team owns the day-to-day delivery of Google Workspace migrations, cloud implementations, platform deployments, and technical onboarding projects. Your responsibility is to provide leadership, remove delivery roadblocks, coach technical capability, and ensure every project is completed on time, within scope, and with an exceptional client experience.

You operate at the intersection of people leadership, technical delivery, commercial awareness, and continuous improvement. You build a culture of ownership and accountability while creating the systems, standards, and documentation that allow the Projects team to scale without compromising quality.

Ultimately, you are accountable for the operational health of the Projects function—developing your people, improving delivery maturity, protecting project profitability, and ensuring every client receives the level of service expected from itGenius.

Accountabilities:

Delivery Excellence

Lead the successful delivery of all implementation projects by ensuring timelines, quality standards, and customer expectations are consistently achieved.

Team Leadership

Build, coach, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of Technical Implementation Specialists capable of delivering exceptional client outcomes.

Operational Performance

Maintain visibility across all active projects, proactively identifying delivery risks and ensuring issues are resolved before impacting clients.

Commercial Performance

Monitor project profitability, resource utilisation, and delivery efficiency to ensure projects remain commercially viable.

Continuous Improvement

Develop scalable delivery processes, technical standards, runbooks, and documentation that improve consistency across the team.

Responsibilities:

Team Leadership & Development

• Lead, mentor, and coach Technical Implementation Specialists across all experience levels.
• Conduct regular one-on-one coaching sessions focused on technical capability, project delivery, communication, and career development.
• Build individual development plans that strengthen technical and client-facing skills.
• Foster a collaborative, accountable, and high-performing team culture.
• Manage team workload, leave planning, and resource allocation to maintain delivery continuity.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, and technical training for new team members.

Delivery Management

• Maintain oversight of all active implementation projects.
• Review project health daily and ensure delivery milestones remain on track.
• Allocate projects based on technical complexity, workload, and capability.
• Remove blockers and provide guidance where projects require leadership intervention.
• Ensure implementation quality meets company standards before project completion.
• Support high-risk and enterprise implementations where additional leadership is required.

Technical Governance

• Establish and maintain implementation standards across all supported technologies.
• Review technical designs, migration approaches, and implementation plans.
• Approve project documentation prior to client handover.
• Ensure implementation runbooks remain accurate, current, and repeatable.
• Drive standardisation across Google Workspace, Dialpad, Copper CRM, Asana, and future service offerings.

Client Success

• Support Technical Implementation Specialists during complex customer engagements.
• Act as the senior escalation point for implementation-related concerns.
• Participate in executive client meetings where required.
• Ensure communication standards are consistently maintained across the team.
• Lead major project recoveries when delivery risks arise.

Commercial Oversight

• Monitor project profitability throughout the implementation lifecycle.
• Review project financial performance and resource utilisation.
• Ensure implementation effort aligns with project scope and commercial expectations.
• Identify projects at risk of overrunning budget and implement corrective actions early.
• Report delivery performance and operational metrics to the Chief of Services.

Process & Operational Excellence

• Own the Projects team’s Standard Operating Procedures.
• Develop repeatable implementation methodologies and quality assurance processes.
• Build templates, automation, and documentation that improve delivery efficiency.
• Lead post-project retrospectives and implement lessons learned.
• Continuously improve delivery workflows to reduce project duration and increase consistency.

What we are looking for:

Experience

• 6+ years in IT implementation, technical delivery, or professional services.
• 3+ years leading technical implementation or project delivery teams.
• Experience delivering Google Workspace implementations, migrations, or cloud transformation projects.
• Experience working within an MSP or technology consulting environment.
