Duties And Responsibilities

  • Procurement Management
  • Develop and implement
  • procurement strategies for construction materials, equipment, and
  • subcontracted services.
  • Source, evaluate, negotiate, and
  • manage suppliers, contractors, and vendors.
  • Obtain competitive quotations
  • and conduct bid evaluations.
  • Prepare and process purchase
  • requisitions, purchase orders, and contracts.
  • Ensure timely procurement of
  • materials to prevent project delays.
  • Monitor supplier performance in
  • terms of quality, cost, and delivery.
  • Maintain approved supplier and
  • vendor databases.
  • Ensure compliance with company
  • procurement policies and contractual requirements.
  • Inventory Management
  • Establish inventory control
  • systems for construction materials, tools, equipment, and consumables.
  • Monitor stock levels across
  • warehouses, project sites, and storage yards.
  • Plan inventory requirements
  • based on project schedules and forecasts.
  • Conduct regular physical
  • inventory counts, cycle counts, and audits.
  • Investigate inventory variances
  • and implement corrective actions.
  • Minimize excess inventory,
  • obsolete materials, and wastage.
  • Maintain accurate inventory
  • records using ERP or inventory management systems.
  • Warehouse and Yard Management
  • Oversee warehouse, laydown yard,
  • and material storage operations.
  • Ensure proper receiving,
  • inspection, storage, preservation, and issuance of construction materials.
  • Optimize warehouse layout for
  • efficient material handling.
  • Implement material
  • identification, labeling, and tracking systems.
  • Ensure compliance with health,
  • safety, and environmental (HSE) standards.
  • Monitor warehouse security to
  • prevent theft, loss, and damage.
  • Manage warehouse personnel and
  • equipment.
  • Logistics and Material Distribution
  • Coordinate the transportation
  • and delivery of materials, equipment, and tools to construction sites.
  • Schedule deliveries to align
  • with project timelines and site requirements.
  • Monitor inbound and outbound
  • shipments.
  • Coordinate with logistics
  • providers and transport contractors.
  • Resolve delivery issues and
  • minimize transportation delays.
  • Track shipments and maintain
  • delivery documentation.
  • Project Supply Chain Coordination
  • Collaborate with project
  • managers, engineers, quantity surveyors, and site teams to determine
  • material requirements.
  • Develop procurement schedules

  • Monitor critical material

  • Participate in project planning

  • Identify and mitigate supply

  • CostControl and Budget Management

  • opportunities through strategic sourcing and supplier negotiations.
  • Control inventory carrying costs
  • and warehouse operating expenses.
  • Analyze material consumption and
  • recommend improvements to reduce waste.
  • Prepare procurement and
  • inventory cost reports for management.
  • Supplier and Contract Management
  • Build long-term relationships
  • with key suppliers and contractors.
  • Evaluate supplier performance
  • using key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Resolve supplier disputes and
  • performance issues.
  • Ensure contract compliance
  • regarding pricing, delivery schedules, warranties, and quality standards.
  • Quality Assurance and Compliance
  • Verify that procured materials
  • comply with project specifications, engineering requirements, and
  • applicable standards.
  • Coordinate inspections of
  • incoming materials.
  • Ensure all procurement and
  • inventory documentation is complete and accurate.
  • Support internal and external
  • audits.
  • Ensure compliance with legal,
  • regulatory, and environmental requirements.
  • Reporting and Performance Monitoring
  • Prepare reports on procurement
  • activities, inventory status, warehouse operations, and supplier
  • performance.
  • Monitor and report KPIs such as:
  • Inventory accuracy

  • On-time supplier delivery
  • Procurement cost savings
  • Warehouse productivity

  • Recommend process improvements
  • to enhance supply chain performance.
  • Leadership and Team Management
  • Lead and supervise procurement,
  • warehouse, inventory, and logistics personnel.
  • Set departmental objectives and
  • performance targets.
  • Train and develop team members
  • in supply chain best practices.
  • Promote continuous improvement,
  • accountability, and safety within the department.
  • Foster collaboration between
  • procurement, warehouse, logistics, finance, and project teams.
