We're looking for a Lead DevOps Engineer to take ownership of our cloud and edge infrastructure, driving security, reliability, observability, and cost optimization across our technology ecosystem.
This is a senior, hands-on role for someone who enjoys solving complex challenges, influencing technical direction, and creating lasting operational excellence.

What You'll Do
☁️ Cloudflare & Edge Security
Take ownership of our Cloudflare environment and ensure customer-facing systems remain secure, performant, and highly available.
- Configure and optimize Cloudflare services, including WAF, CDN, caching, firewall rules, rate limiting, bot management, and custom security policies
- Analyze Cloudflare logs to identify attack patterns, performance issues, and opportunities for optimization
- Fine-tune security controls to minimize false positives while maintaining strong protection
- Collaborate with engineering teams to securely expose APIs and customer-facing services
🔒 AWS Security, Governance & Cost Optimization
Lead our AWS security posture and cloud governance initiatives.
- Design and maintain secure AWS environments following least-privilege principles
- Manage IAM, VPCs, security groups, NACLs, encryption, key management, and compliance controls
- Establish governance standards across accounts and environments
- Analyze cloud utilization and spending to identify cost-saving opportunities
- Implement optimization strategies through right-sizing, reservations, and architectural improvements
📊 Observability, Monitoring & Logging
Build meaningful visibility into our infrastructure and applications.
- Design and maintain centralized logging and monitoring solutions
- Manage observability platforms including CloudWatch, New Relic, Sumo Logic, and Cloudflare
- Improve signal-to-noise ratio by standardizing log formats and eliminating low-value logging
- Create dashboards, alerts, SLOs, and SLIs that provide actionable operational insights
- Drive proactive monitoring to improve system performance and reliability
🚨 Incident Response & Operational Excellence
Be a key leader during critical incidents and continuously improve operational readiness.
- Develop and enhance incident response procedures and playbooks
- Lead incident detection, escalation, investigation, and root cause analysis
- Conduct post-incident reviews and implement preventative improvements
- Partner with engineering and product teams to embed security and reliability early in the development lifecycle
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence
What We're Looking For
Required Experience
- 7+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, DevSecOps, or related roles
- Deep hands-on experience managing AWS production environments
- Strong expertise with Cloudflare, including WAF, CDN, and rule-based security controls
- Experience with observability platforms such as CloudWatch, New Relic, and Sumo Logic
- Strong understanding of web security principles, including OWASP Top 10, API security, and DDoS mitigation
- Solid networking fundamentals, including HTTP, TLS, DNS, and routing concepts
- Proven experience creating and improving operational processes, runbooks, and incident management practices
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to transform logs and metrics into meaningful improvements
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Nice to Have
- Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar)
- Experience supporting eCommerce platforms or high-traffic customer-facing systems
- CI/CD pipeline design and secure deployment practices
- Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as PCI-DSS, SOC 2, or ISO 27001
- Experience mentoring engineers or providing technical leadership
