About The Role
We are seeking a skilled Frontend Developer to join our team and contribute to the development of Wilbur, a mission-critical application that orchestrates daily operations at Schiphol. This role involves working across the entire technology stack, with a primary focus on front-end development. You will be responsible for building and maintaining React/TypeScript UI components that enable control room operators to monitor and manage real-time data streams. Your work will support the seamless flow of information, ensuring operational efficiency and compliance. You will collaborate closely with other developers, data analysts, and product owners within an agile environment to continuously improve platform performance, accessibility, and maintainability. Your expertise will help translate complex technical requirements into pragmatic solutions, ensuring the platform remains reliable, scalable, and user-friendly. This role offers an exciting opportunity to be part of Schiphol's digital transformation, directly impacting airport operations and passenger experience.
Qualifications
- HBO or WO level of education
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience as a developer, with demonstrable front-end expertise
- Strong knowledge of TypeScript and React
- Experience working within Agile/Scrum methodologies
- Ability to take ownership of tasks and deliver independent results
- A proactive mindset focused on continuous improvement of code quality and user experience
- Excellent problem-solving skills to translate complex technical issues into effective solutions
- Experience working with real-time data streams, WebSockets, and UI/UX implementation
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain React/TypeScript UI components for the Wilbur platform
- Implement and optimize real-time data streaming functionalities using WebSockets
- Translate UI/UX designs into functional interfaces, ensuring consistency and usability
- Continuously improve platform performance, accessibility, and maintainability
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues promptly
- Perform quality assurance checks and document solutions thoroughly
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, data analysts, and product owners
- Participate actively in agile ceremonies, contributing to sprint planning and reviews
