Valid State of Florida Professional Engineer license may be required.

Retail Technology team is a centre of excellence within the Retail Banking Digital space and plays an integral part in the purpose and success of CommBank. We are responsible for delivering an exceptional customer experience across all digital touch points.
Within Retail Technology, you’ll be part of our Credit Cards Crew and Consumer Finance Domain. The Credit Cards Crew has end-to-end responsibility for the Commonwealth Bank Credit Cards business. We consist of squads that look after the development of the credit card products, acquisition, the growth of our portfolio, our loyalty program and end-to-end process improvement.
Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) is key to us achieving this goal. Our teams ensure that our systems maintain the highest standards of service outcomes for our customers, which enables seamless execution of our award winning banking apps. We're proud of our people and technology culture. Our SRE team marries both, by applying Software Engineering principles to our operational services. We implement latest industry-wide methodologies around observability practices.

As a Senior Staff Systems Engineer, you will be senior contributor within the Database crew responsible for the safe, sound and secure delivery and operation of Database services hosted within our on-premise data centres and in Public Cloud. The Senior Staff Engineer is required to influence, engineer, design, build and run world class products and services.
We’re Interested in hearing from people who:
Collaborate with platform engineering squads to enhance system reliability, performance, and scalability through the implementation of DevOps & SRE type practices.
Design, implement, and maintain automation software to continuous integrate, deploy, monitor, and respond to incidents, ensuring high availability and optimal performance.
Develop and implement infrastructure-as-code(IaC) solutions using differing tools and software, ensuring consistent and reproducible infrastructure deployments.
Implement monitoring and logging solutions to proactively identify and address potential issues, optimizing platform performance and reliability.
Lead efforts to establish and improve monitoring and alerting systems, utilizing tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, to identify and address platform performance issues proactively.
Collaborate with security teams to integrate security best practices into the CI/CD pipelines, platform, and applications.
