I. BROAD FUNCTION
- Responsible to ensure all the electrical and mechanical power system, utilities and facilities operation run smoothly all time with compliance of all safety and health requirements. To maintain and troubleshoot, repair, inspect, check and service is done timely to ensure all equipment are in proper good working condition all time. Responsible to ensure all work completely timely and within allocated budget.
II. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Plan, organize and implement a comprehensive program (including both corrective and preventive activities) to ensure smooth operation all mechanical and electrical installation related to facility and Utility.
- Liaise with relevant Authorities and vendors to ensure compliance of the applicable laws, including OSHA / EIA Act, DOSH, Suruhanjaya Tenaga, FM global, Jabatan Bomba and other regulatory governing bodies.
- Lead and manage a team of wiremen/ technicians & facility resources to provide effective and reliable support services for all plant machineries, equipment, and facilities.
- Attend to mechanical and electrical breakdown, trouble shooting and provide regular maintenance. Ensure all equipment are upkeep with proper PM and maintenance program related to facility and utility.
- Carry out general repair, painting, toiletry, and minor plumbing work according to standards.
- Troubleshoot and undertake hands on repair work for any issues relating to equipment and building structure promptly.
- Prepare and submit reports related to assign job function. Ensure all meter reading and checklist are completed timely.
- To carry out daily inspection and monitoring for HT and LV switchboards, bus-ducts, transformers, switchgears and TNB supply.
- Carry out schedule inspections and testing of standby Generator, Fire Pumps, and other facility and utility support equipment – air compressor, chiller, cooling towers, freezer and other equipment.
- Supervise external contractor’s works / service and monitor their performance. Ensure all safety compliance is enforced and follow all time with satisfactory job completion timely.
- Carry out in-house electrical works including maintenance, inspection and testing as assigned by the management.
- Able to communicate all level effectively and coordinate stoppage/repair work to minimize downtime.
- Ensure, monitor, update, follow-up and close the work request / order after repaired and attended to the breakdown or request.
- Ensure that all electrical services are always serviceable and in safe condition.
- Develop short- and long-term facility, utility and building maintenance plan.
- Develop and maintain records and reports such as equipment and supplies inventories, damage reports, preventive maintenance and repair records, key, and lock index.
- Correctly use and maintain the tools including power tools, test equipment and measuring instruments.
- Any other duties as assigned from time to time by the Management.
III. EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE :
- Candidate MUST possess at least a Chargeman HT from Suruhanjaya Tenaga (Energy Commission) for at least 11KV installation.
- Completed SPM/SPMV, MLVK, KKTM, IKM, Diploma or equivalent in Manufacturing technology, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- At least 5 years of hands-on working experience as Chargeman HT in maintaining electrical equipment and devices with experience in trouble shooting and maintenance of plant electrical installation.
- Able to read and interpret simple electrical specifications, wiring and circuit diagrams, symbols and building plans. Electrical knowledge associated with current carrying capacity of cables, wire, fuses, single phase circuit, three phase circuit, earth circuits, insulating, conducting material, switch fuses, isolators and other protective circuit devices.
- Able to work independently, possess integrity and a right sense of urgency to meet deadlines.
- Experience in the maintenance of preventive and calibration of all M&E equipment and maintenance of the facility and building structure.
- Proficient in English and Bahasa Malaysia, both verbal and written.
- Possess good interpersonal skills and able to communicate with all levels of people.
- Able to perform some level of cost analysis and work within a structured budget.
- Ability to write detailed repair reports.
- Able to develop and deliver a clear and concise presentation when required.
- A level of supervisory experience is desirable.
