- Good knowledge and technical competency in electrical and electronics control relating to lift, escalator and moving walks;

- A practicing Lift/Escalator/Moving Walks Engineer with operation experience would be preferred;

- Good knowledge and technical competencies in Smart Facility Management (including IoT, IoE and Data Analytics for lift management) would have added advantage.

• Work on large, complex train control/signal projects for Rail & Transit clients in North America.
• Perform design works for train control/signals, including:

• Interoperable Electronic Train Management System (I-ETMS).
• Advanced Civil Speed Enforcement System (ACSES).

• Proficient with solid-state interface (SSI) programing of ElectroLogIXS, iVPI, and Microlok along with the tools for programming/compiling.
• Analyze requirements, prepare review comments for disposition of contract deliverables.
• Lead/perform technical design reviews of wayside and carborne subsystems for train control.
• Perform oversight and witnessing of factory testing of train control subsystems prior to approval for shipment; log discrepancies and prepare reports for status of system testing.
• Lead/monitor/perform field implementation and testing activities of wayside and carborne train control systems for a range of rail vehicles and their infrastructure.
• Assess performance and specification compliance for Signal & Train Control/PTC systems.
• Coordinate field implementation activities with agency configuration/change control processes for PTC compliance.
• Interface with the client as the Train Control/Signals Engineer.

“What Required Skills You’ll Bring”

• 5-10+ years of experience with the design/review of train control, signaling, PTC I-ETMS, PTC-ACSES, solid-state and relay-based train control systems.
• 5-10+ years of experience in the transit industry and/or FRA projects in North America.
• Bachelor of Science (BS) degree required, preferably Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Communications.
• Willingness to travel for assignments.
• Residency in or relocation to Salt Lake City UT or Oakland CA desirable.

Job Description

The National University of Singapore (NUS) Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering invites application for one (1) Research Fellow position in the area of intelligent transportation systems with emphasis on system development, deployment, integration, and delivery.

The candidate is expected to work on

(1) research projects related to smart lamp post development, deployment, integration, and delivery for related applications under the Cisco-NUS Accelerated Digital Economy Corporate Laboratory.

(2) Work with contractors and agencies for systems hardware and software development and field deployment and must be willing to go on field and discuss on progress with contractors appointed to work on the trials. In addition, the candidate should also possess good communication and team working skills and can present research findings in publications and professional meetings (including with agencies and the industry).

Job Requirements

• Possess a Ph.D. degree in a related discipline (transportation engineering, operations research, computer engineering/science, or related disciplines)
• strong interests and expertise in traffic simulation, statistical modeling, mathematical programming, reinforcement learning, and optimization
• Strong written and oral communication skills.

This Training Instructor position is located in the National Explosives Detection Canine Team Programs (NEDCTP) Branch, Threat Assessment Division, Security Operations(SO), Transportation Security Administration (TSA), Department of Homeland Security (DHS). If selected for this position, you will serve as a Training Instructor for the National Explosives Detection Canine Team Programs of TSA. Approximately 80% of your time will be spent in the training of canine handlers and/or canines and the remainder of time will be spent conducting assessments and evaluations of the performance of handlers and canine teams in the detection of explosives. Duties include but are not limited to:

• Training, distributing, and evaluating TSA explosives detection canines in support of the NEDCTP
• Working, often independently, to train canine handlers in the detection of explosives and in the handling of explosives detection trained canines.
• Working with explosives in the training and support of canine explosives detection teams.
• Performing inventory of hazardous materials used in explosives detection training.
• Evaluating canine handler teams for the NEDCTP.

The Operations Research Analyst:

• Analyzes the operational impact of proposed non-transportation (e/g., telecommunications) systems on existing transportation systems, including safety-of-life systems, taking account of proposed technology's planned and potential unintended consequences.
• Determines the impact of use of standards and assesses the effect of modifying or applying new standards. Determines the need for field and/or laboratory tests of prototype of production equipment; e.g., to ascertain the unintended consequences of proposed systems and analyze collected data.
• Understands the FCC and NTIA processes and place analysis in context of the procedural requirements of these agencies; also assessing the institutional and economic impacts of the analysis.
• Serves as the technical lead or key technical advisor to agencies implementing advanced communications technology to transportation system concepts.
• Represents the Volpe Center in meetings and discussions with representatives of the ITS JPO, FHWA, NHTSA, other government agencies, industry and academia to address issues and resolve problems.
