The CBA technology unit delivers the best digital banking services to Commonwealth Bank customers and to do so is responsible for digital delivery, group data and analytics, technology and technology infrastructure, cyber, fraud, physical security and business resilience for all divisions across CBA. It is also dedicated to delivering the best workplace technology experience for our over 53.000 people across CBA and focused on providing the latest tools, technology, and resources to enhance the way we work together and empower our people to achieve more for our customers.
You’ll be part of Global Markets Technology which- consists of a group of specialist engineers that build and deliver services for the Global Markets business – particularly in the area of Foreign Exchange, Money Markets and Interest Rates. The team is highly agile and ensures that solutions adhere to enterprise standards. The team consists of System Engineers, Software Engineers and Test Engineers, they work collaboratively at PACE and are located in Sydney and Bangalore. (Servicing the Global Markets Businesses in Sydney, London, Amsterdam, New York, Hong Kong and Singapore.)
As a Senior Test Engineer you’ll be working with the team who is in charge of delivering complex solutions for the Global Markets FX (Foreign Exchange) business by ensuring quality for the WallStreet Trading platform. You will be primarily focused on providing the Foreign Exchange and Money Markets solution components through a combination of manual and automation testing. The role involves ensuring that solutions built and configured by the team are fit for purpose in a highly complex, geographically dispersed, solution. Also involves regular interaction with development teams, including Engineering Managers, as well as Technical Support team members in Sydney and Bangalore.

Are familiar with modern software engineering methodologies (Design Thinking, Agile, Lean, DevOps, Continuous Delivery, UX)
Have a strong Risk Mindset - All CommBank employees are expected to proactively identify, understand, openly discuss and act on current and future risks
Collaborates with cross-functional teams and provides support and guidance to junior team members
Tech Skills:
We use a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks. We don’t expect you to know them all but experience or exposure with some of these will set you up for success in this team:
Experience working in Investment banking and Trading application is a must
Expertise in building test automation frameworks - SmartBear or UFT preferred
Familiarity with server-side scripting languages such as Python or Shell scripting
PL/SQL Skills and Unix/Linux scripting
Performance testing using JMeter preferred
Knowledge of CI/CD implementation using Teamcity & Octopus
Working knowledge of Agile practices
