Your new role

You will be expected to:
* Support students with their learning
* Monitor student behaviour in the classroom

* Be confident in delivering lessons in line with the National Curriculum

What you'll need to succeed
In order to be successful, you will be an experienced Science Teacher with QTS. You must have good knowledge of the current curriculum and recent experience teaching pupils aged 11-18. You will need to be able to provide good to outstanding references.
Hays Education welcome all teachers with QTS, including NQTs.

A Science specialist is required for a well-respected mainstream secondary school in East Birmingham from September 2024 on a long term basis.

The role would be teaching Science across Key Stages 3 and 4 . Your role is to help students achieve excellent results in Science whilst keeping a high standard of teaching and a positive and enthusiastic approach.

Science is a popular subject at all key stages, with a significant number of students choosing to take a Science subject at A-Level. The school has high expectations that are combined with outstanding teaching, leading each student to be aspirational and determined to succeed.

A QTS with Biology specialism, or experience to teach Biology up to KS4 would be high desirable for the school.

Both experienced and Early Career Teachers are encouraged to apply.

Your new school is a large secondary school with academy status located in Rossendale. The school is coeducational and caters for pupils aged 11-18. The school has established an excellent reputation in the local community and the senior leadership team continuously strive towards achieving outstanding. In addition to the above, the school offers state of the art facilities and has excellent transport links.

Your new role
Joining a high achieving department, you will be responsible for teaching Science to KS3, KS4 & KS5. The role is to commence as soon as possible and will operate, full time, on a temporary basis covering a staff absence. As the role is long term, you will be required to plan and prepare all lessons whilst differentiating in pupil ability. You will also be required to mark and assess all work ensuring that pupils are progressing in line with their target grades.

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in securing this position, it is essential that you hold a teaching qualification such as QTS, QTLS or PGCE and have experience of teaching Science to KS4. KS5 experience is advantageous but not essential. You must be able to commence the role immediately and be able to commit to the full duration of the assignment.
