Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles, practices, and regulations for both Malaysia and Singapore.
- Handle day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities.
- Liaising with bankers, company secretary, auditors and tax agents on company related matters.
- Assist in yearly audit exercise, prepare financial statements and corporate tax submission.
- Prepare and review financial statements, reports, and budgets.
- Perform regular reconciliations of bank accounts, credit cards, and intercompany transactions.
- Manage internal billing processes, including invoicing, payment tracking, and revenue recognition.
- Support the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Conduct periodic audits of financial activities and records to ensure compliance with company policies and regulations.
- Assist in the preparation of tax filings, including income tax, goods and services tax (GST), sales and services tax (SST) and withholding tax.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and documentation.
- Perform any other ad-hoc duties as and when assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional certifications such as ACCA, CPA, or CIMA are preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in accounting and finance roles.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, regulations, and practices for both Malaysia and Singapore.
- Prior audit knowledge will be an added advantage.
- Familiarity with financial reporting, regulatory and tax matters in Singapore will be an added advantage.
- Proficiency in using accounting software and MS Office applications, especially Excel.
- Experience with internal billing processes, including invoicing, payment tracking, and revenue recognition.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Proven ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Fluency in English, both written and verbal. Knowledge of other languages is an advantage.
