Position Title: Linguistic Quality Manager
Work Location: Penang / Singapore

Penang: Monday to Friday, 8.00am to 5.00pm
Singapore: Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5.30pm

As Linguistic Quality Manager, you will build and drive a linguistic quality management (LQM) framework that ensures high quality to achieve optimal customer satisfaction on localized content for all business groups across the company. The framework includes not only translation quality and terminology management, but also country and domain specific localization requirements around the world. You will also collaborate with different language services providers on top of internal stakeholders across the company.
Job Responsibilities
- Design and deploy effective and adaptable LQM frameworks to cover the company’s diverse content products and domains
- Collaborate closely with global stakeholders to integrate linguistic requirements in the complete end-to-end localization process
- Engage in leadership presentations & strategy-planning sessions as the Linguistic Quality manager
- Monitor linguistic quality and highlight any risks and challenges, and provide additional support when necessary
- Establish and build relationships with stakeholders to effectively implement their linguistic quality requirements and provide education and training on localization processes
- Collaborate with vendors (translators) to ensure alignment and support for language requirements from technical and linguistic perspectives
- Maintain and update localization glossaries, terminology, and style guides, and ensure that all tasks assigned to various vendor contacts adhere to prescribed workflows and timelines
- Identify and pursue initiatives for improving quality in collaboration with internal teams
- Supervise a team of Junior Linguistic Quality Manager/s
- Take on the role of Product Owner role for the LQM feature within company Translation Platform
- Manage the budget allocated for LQM, including vendor costs and tool investments
- Evaluate quality assurance tools and software to aid in LQM
Job Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in the localization industry
- Experience in LQM framework development
- Experience working on localization platforms, translation management systems, CAT tools and language QA tools
- Knowledge of the latest LQM trends in the buyer side
- Knowledge of machine translation
- Experience working on Jira, analyzing, deriving reports & data via dashboards (PowerBI, Looker etc.)
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Ability to stay focused under pressure, prioritizing and managing multiple projects simultaneously in a in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment
- Experience working with high-performance Localization & extended teams to manage and resolve issues & escalations
- Ability to promote a positive and encouraging work environment
- Attention to detail while being able to see the larger picture.
- Ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders
- Strong management, communication, and negotiation skills
- Language skills: English (verbal and written) at business professional level
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong inclination to use technology for process improvement & innovation.
- Experience in leadership roles, Localization Vendor Management and Language Team Management or Quality Management
- Native speaker of one or more of the following languages: Japanese, Chinese, Korean, French, Spanish, Italian, German, Portuguese, Polish or Others to support business requirements
- Background in linguistics or NLP preferred
