We are looking for an experienced IT professional to take ownership of Solutions Architecture within our business. You will provide technical guidance for our various programmes and projects. The role contains emphasis on the integration and configuration of COTS and Cloud systems with a mainly Microsoft environment.

As a Software engineer, you will be part of a squad within the Highvalue and International Payments crew. You will be working with engineers on uplifting business capabilities and modernise our tech stack. You'll be hands-on coding and be responsible for shaping the evolution of this system by designing and developing micro services, data access layers, REST API(s), and writing integration services for third-party API consumption, manage risk with safe deployments and automated testing, as well as learning more about back-end engineering.

Tech Skills
We use a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks. We don’t expect you to know them all but experience or exposure with some of these (or equivalents) will set you up for success in this team:
Hands-on experience in developing backend applications using C# .NET Core, ASP.NET, MVC, REST APIs and WebAPI
Demonstrated knowledge of micro services and REST API Integration
Ability to create database designs and database programming for both relational and NoSQL databases (e.g. MSSQL, Oracle, Aurora)
Modern Javascript frameworks (React) and Scripting languages – Javascript, Typescript, HTML/CSS, JQuery.
Source code control, build and deployment tools (CI/CD) – GitHub, TeamCity, Octopus deploy.
Cloud Experience on AWS (CloudFormation, Code Pipeline etc.) or Azure DevOps – Desirable.
Experience with event driven architecture and kafka.
Understanding of monitoring tools like splunk, AppDynamics, Grafana.
Build and hosting technologies (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker) – Desirable
Be able to support and resolve issues in tech stacks that run in .NET webservices.
Knowledge of security best practices and principles.

What You'll Work On
Design and implement unit testable code that is highly maintainable.
Design and implement software solutions for both web and mobile platforms
Support software development and architecture best practices across multiple projects
Contribute to technical team strategy and roadmap
Contribute to significant architectural and operational decisions in collaboration with the Architecture team
Identify and solve design and technology issues within the current systems.
Collaborate with both internal and external team members to shape and define API contracts
Ensure performance and scale, maintaining high standards of code quality and thoughtful design.
Create software architecture and design documentation
Support engineering teams with design, and code reviews including peer code review of Pull Request
Design team tooling, process, and play a role in building team culture
Provide technical training and mentorship to junior engineers.
Stay current with emerging trends, making recommendations as needed to help the organization innovate.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or other relevant field or equivalent experience
10+ years of professional hands-on software development experience
Demonstrated experience developing, shipping, and maintaining complex JavaScript based applications
In-depth knowledge of JavaScript, Typescript, and React
In-depth understanding of modern web and/or cross-platform mobile application design architecture, API design patterns, performance and scale
Outstanding interpersonal and collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications
Familiar with Cybersecurity best practices
Experience with working and supporting multiple development team members.
Comfortable working asynchronously with a distributed team
Excellent written, verbal and listening communication skills
A willingness to learn new software development languages to meet goals and objectives
