Job Summary
Reporting directly to the Director of Corporate Communications, the Assistant Manager for Corporate Communications will play a pivotal role in overseeing and executing a comprehensive communications strategy for the Football Association of Singapore (FAS) and Singapore Premier League (SPL). This encompasses a broad spectrum of responsibilities, including but not limited to, enhancing media relations, expanding stakeholder engagement, and crafting compelling content for both FAS-initiated and collaborative events. The ideal candidate will embody the spirit of Singapore football, bringing both passion and innovation to the table, to elevate the brand and its narratives to new heights.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Strategically design and implement dynamic public relations campaigns that effectively communicate key messages, elevate brand visibility for FAS, SPL, and our valued partners.
- Oversee the creation of the FAS Annual Reports, ensuring they reflect our achievements and aspirations with clarity and impact.
- Lead the preparation of communication materials for all executive and stakeholder meetings, encapsulating critical information and strategic objectives.
- Navigate media interactions with finesse, managing inquiries, formulating responses, and executing follow-up actions to uphold and enhance our public image.
- Curate engaging content for FAS and SPL digital platforms, staying abreast of and highlighting significant developments in local football and FAS events.
- Cultivate robust relationships with media representatives; create and distribute essential communications materials such as press releases, statements, and media kits.
- Generate and oversee the production of content across multiple channels, including social media, editorial features, promotional literature, website content, speeches, and multimedia projects, to tell our story compellingly.
- Support department leadership in guiding the Corporate Communications team towards achieving set KPIs, ensuring alignment with overall organizational goals.
- Analyze media coverage with a critical eye, produce insightful weekly reports to inform strategy adjustments and media engagement approaches.
- Mentor and oversee junior team members, ensuring quality and consistency in all communications outputs, fostering professional growth and excellence within the team.
- Provide comprehensive administrative support and efficiently handle additional tasks as necessary, contributing to the seamless operation of the department.
- Execute additional responsibilities as delegated by the Director of Corporate Communications and/or the General Secretary, embodying flexibility and commitment to the organization's mission.
Requirements
1. Demonstrates deep understanding and knowledge of Singapore football, including the National ‘A’ Team and the Singapore Premier League, reflecting a passion for the sport and its development.
2. Exceptional proficiency in English, capable of producing a wide range of high-quality communications materials, coupled with outstanding oral communication skills and an unwavering attention to detail.
3. A minimum of five years’ experience in public relations or corporate communications, with a proven track record of leadership or supervisory roles enhancing candidacy.
4. Creative thinker with a flair for crafting engaging and innovative editorial content, able to inspire and captivate diverse audiences.
5. Highly motivated, enthusiastic team player with the capacity to work autonomously, demonstrating initiative and adaptability in various contexts.
6. A tertiary qualification in communications, public relations, marketing communications, or a related field is preferred, reflecting a solid foundation in the principles of effective communication.
7. Valuable experience in web design and basic accounting principles will be considered advantageous, offering additional support to the department’s multifaceted functions.
