A chemical manufacturer based between Bradford/ Leeds, West Yorkshire is seeking to appoint an experienced and motivated Operations Manager to oversee the daily operations of their higher-tier chemical operations. The newly appointed Operations Manager will assume responsibility for the smooth and efficient production of high-quality chemical products, while complying with all safety and environmental regulations. They will form part of the senior leadership team and drive strategic goals, innovation and objectives.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

• Manage and supervise the production, quality, health and safety, process and maintenance.
• Plan and coordinate the production schedules, budgets, and resources
• Monitor and optimise the performance, output, and quality of the chemical processes and equipment
• Implement and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) and in-process quality checks
• Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives and projects
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental policies and regulations
• Troubleshoot and resolve any operational issues or disruptions
• Liaise and communicate with internal and external stakeholders, such as customers, suppliers, and regulators

ABOUT YOU

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline, such as chemical engineering, chemistry, or related field
• Chartered status would be a distinct advantage.
• Extensive experience in operations management with the chemical sector or a similar high-hazard industry
• Knowledge of chemical processes, equipment, and safety standards
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Proficient in a range of systems, including, Microsoft Office and ERP systems
• The correct right to work in the UK
• UK Driving licence

• To ensure that all accidents, incidents, near misses and diseases are properly reported, recorded and investigated with a view to recommending action to prevent recurrence. To include reporting, as appropriate to the Health and Safety Executive.
• To develop and deliver, in association with authorised providers, training sessions on Health, Safety and Environment to a wide variety of audiences within the Torus Group.
• To liaise with the Health and Safety Executive and other professional safety organisations as necessary.
• Carry out risk assessments and consider how risks could be reduced.

The Role
