Are you the leader we are looking for to oversee the work of our Histopathology service and who will ensure that we continue to offer high-quality services to the Trust? In conjunction with the Clinical Director and Directorate Manager for Cellular Pathology, you will be responsible for the overall operation and development of the Histopathology laboratory service. You have the responsibility for managing a team to successfully deliver all aspects of laboratory operations, from motivating staff to maintaining the department’s finances; this is a multi-layered role that requires an ambitious leader.

As Histopathology evolves, we wish to embrace technological developments and utilise SMART automation to support delivery of our service and are currently implementing Digital Pathology across all sites.

We are looking for a visionary leader with excellent communication skills and a management qualification, or evidence of developed management skills. HCPC registered, you will have significant Histopathology experience, with a good awareness of current issues in the pathology service, health and safety legislation and UKAS standards. You will be a leader with strategic capability, who can drive forward modernisation in the context of financial efficiency. Your new role
We are looking to recruit at Manager or Associate Director level. This role would be integrated into the wider Birmingham tax team, but also into the national ESG/Reward team. Supporting the national partners on projects won from elsewhere, with access to the junior staff from the national Reward team as required, but you would also focus on winning (with partner support) work from Birmingham clients and servicing work locally.


What you'll need to succeed
Someone with at least a few years specialist Reward/share schemes experience is required for this role rather than a generalist looking to specialise. We are also open to recruiting from law firms provided that they are already specialists.

Our Esteem Client is looking for a technical staff to assist the Head of Technology in leading the technology strategy, innovation, and delivery. You will be responsible for overseeing the technology department, driving innovation, developing technology policies, managing technology-related projects, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

• Developing and executing the technology vision, strategy, and roadmap aligned with the business goals
• Explore emerging technologies such as AI, Generative AI, IoT, cloud, and 5G
• Develop and implement R&D strategies to ensure that all R&D projects are well aligned with market/customer needs.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, such as business units, vendors, and authorities, to understand their needs, expectations, and feedback.
• Represent and act as a liaison ensuring that strategic objectives, technological initiatives, and priorities are effectively communicated, coordinated, and executed.
• Prepare product and technology reports and presentations.
• Facilitate discussions between stakeholders relating to R&D collaboration projects. Ensure alignment among stakeholders, leveraging effective communication channels and consensus-building techniques to drive optimize outcomes for the projects.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field. Advanced degrees or certifications are a plus.
• Proven experience in technology coordination, project management, or similar roles within the technology sector or related fields.
• Strong understanding of communication technology, industry trends, and emerging technologies.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across diverse teams and stakeholders.
• Strategic mindset with the ability to translate vision into actionable plans and initiatives.
