An opportunity has arisen for a Band 8B Interim Nurse Consultant for Palliative Care and End of Life. The suitable candidate will also get an opportunity to develop their wider skills in palliative care through the holistic assessment approach, encompassing physical, social, psychological and spiritual needs. They will also gain experience in advance care planning and play a pivotal role in working alongside our palliative care discharge coordinator with an emphasis on discharge planning for those patients who are eligible for NHS funded care and rapid discharges for those who are approaching end of life.

This post will play a key role in support of the Trust ADoN for Cancer and Palliative Care Services in developing and maintaining sustainable high quality Specialist Palliative and End of Life Care (EOLC) across The North Middlesex University Hospital NHS Trust. Through close co-ordination and co-operation with the Trust EOL Steering group the post holder will strive to improve the patient and carer experience of end of life care and the development and delivery of the EOLC strategy.

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Schedule and input all appointments scheduling module in a timely and efficient manner. Print patient schedule and pull patient charts daily.
• Facilitates the admission process by professionally greeting all patients and visitors and obtain patient identification and insurance information to initiate admissions process.

• Complete front-end process of billing procedure ensuring all information is entered into the computer registration module.
