Opportunity :

 Our Parsons Baltimore office  is now hiring for  a Senior Bridge  Designer for our rapidly expanding portfolio of projects.    Parsons extensive experience in this field combined with your design knowledge and technical skills will propel your career forward.

We need our Designers at this level to apply applying the more advanced CAD techniques.   In this role you will develop difficult and complex layout and design drawings utilizing theoretical and practical design knowledge, that they meet company and industry standards and codes.  We offer a remote hybrid remote working environment ( meaning allowed to work from him 2 days per week).    

Responsibilities:  

Utilizes a CAD workstation to prepare difficult and complex layout and design drawings utilizing theoretical and practical design knowledge for various bridge design s for road and highway projects in the greater DC, Maryland, and Virginia region
Interprets and ensures conformance to applicable standards and codes, as well as company policies and procedures.
Understands and utilizes more advanced software to complete assignments.
Works closely with Engineers and other disciplines to ensure coordinated design systems.
Meets layout requirements and develops alternate design layouts of systems as required.
Ensures compliance with required design safety factors, tolerances, and specifications.
Reviews supplier data and supplier/manufacturer drawings, as required.
Checks orthographic (2D) and/or isometric (3D) drawings prepared by others.
Performs checking procedures as appropriate to the discipline and assigned by immediate supervisor.
Assists in training lower level Designers in various procedures.
Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

Qualifications:
Associate's or equivalent technical degree or certificate of completion from an accredited designer/drafter course or equivalent work experience
8+ years of relevant experience, with solid focus with bridge design projects
Requirements include strong  CAD skills, inclusive of Microstation and Project Wise software is essential

We are seeking a Senior Mechatronics Designer

As a Senior Mechatronics Designer you are responsible for the overall design of mechatronics concepts and modules that are the basis for the design and development of electrical hardware and software for new machines and/or (sub)functionalities of already existing machines.

Responsibilities / Tasks

• You are part of a multi-disciplinary development team and are responsible for the design, development, maintenance and technical life cycle management of mechatronic concepts and models.

• You carry out system analysis, -design and -verification.

• You gather necessary information from all the development disciplines and work closely with the Senior Mechanical Designer and Senior Software Engineer.

• You initiate and maintain contact with external parties and manage third party (sub)developments that are part of the overall design.

• You assist in test activities and document your work.

• You support the mechanical, electrical and software engineers by providing advice.

• You are responsible for the Functional Descriptions and Design Specifications of the Mechatronic Functional Blocks that exist inside a model/design.

• You follow the latest mechatronic development trends in the market and think of ways to apply them.

• Occasionally you do the commissioning and/or service at customer site (international).

• Your main location will be GEA Weert, however your expertise could also be deployed on other GEA locations within the BU. Occasional travelling to other GEA locations would then be applicable.

• You report to the Manager Software & Controls.

Your Profile / Qualifications

• Master degree in Mechatronics or similar.

• 5+ years working experience in product development.

• Elaborate and broad experience with Mathworks Matlab and Simulink.

• Elaborate experience in creating models using “Model Based Design”.

• Strong in algebra and algorithms.

• Focus on practical approach, but with a strong theoretical basis.

• Used to thinking in multiple disciplines.

• Basic knowledge of C coding language.

• Excellent organisational and communication skills, ability to interact and think on different levels with different team members/disciplines.

• Fluent in Dutch and English, spoken and written.

What You’ll Get to Do:

The Production Specialist is responsible for translating customer requirements into a wide variety of visually appealing printed and environmental products. These products vary in complexity of design and may include engravings, acrylic installations, exhibit fabrication, and traditional prints.

More About the Role:

• Evaluate customer requirements to best manage expectations for print and environmental projects.

• Ensure on-time completion and delivery of all products, and custom engraving orders according to customer specifications and delivery requirements.

• Proactively resolve anticipated production challenges.

• Generate accurate and timely price quotations.

• Manage inventory levels of all supplies, including ordering, confirming stock availability with vendors, restocking of inventory, safety and material cost reports.

• Collaborate with leadership to create production plans and identify workflow requirements.

• Respond to customer concerns and inquiries, ensure the timely delivery of products, and ensure that products meet quality standards.

• Arrange for the maintenance and service of all equipment and production supply management.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent

• 2-8 years of experience in production, engraving, printing or a related field

• Strong understanding of environmental design principles

• Excellent customer service and communication skills

• Attention to detail and quality

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong organizational and time management skills

• Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, PC computers, and MS Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.)
