About You
The Senior Learning Designer plays a crucial role in supporting the Subject Matter Experts within the Joint Logistics Command of the Australian Defence Force. They are responsible for designing and developing training and assessment content for a range of Defence training programs through the Defence LMS. Job Summary
As the Learning designer, the job holder is responsible for design and develop eLearning lessons, which include courseware design and training content creation.
Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities
• Review and develop curriculum design incorporating technology and relevant learning pedagogies.
• Develop and review of lesson plans, instructional materials, manuals, aide memoire and learning resources.
• Develop and review of Assessment criteria, tests, assignments and examination papers.
• Design and development of e-learning content that consist of an assortment of media types such as video, animation and other instructional technologies.
• Work with Project Manager (PM) team to define courseware scope (level of interactivity, objective, timeline and etc).
• Conduct needs analysis with the Subject Matter Expert (SME) to gather courseware requirements and content.
• Work with the Subject Matter Expert (SME) to design courseware for effective learning, by providing advice on learning/instructional design for adult learning.
• Develop, conceptualize and edit storyboard that will be translated into finished interactive content.
• Work closely with Content Developer (CD) team to design and develop engaging interactive courseware for adult learning.
• Perform courseware testing and evaluate courseware based on the approved storyboard.
Job Specifications
EDUCATION
Degree in any discipline. Preference is given to degree in instructional design, education, psychology, instructional technology or related qualifications. Post-graduate qualification in Education or Instructional Design will be an advantage. Possess a Diploma in Adult Continuation Education (DACE), equivalent or higher qualification by an accredited training institution (WDA – accredited CETs) or from Institute of Higher Learning such as NIE.
EXPERIENCE
At least 2-4 years working experience in instructional design and/or training.

The Learning Designer is a member of a course development team within the Sheridan Center for Teaching and Learning whose work focuses on designing and developing high quality online learning experiences. This position will collaborate with faculty to create inclusively designed online courses for new, online graduate degree programs.
