Job Description

As a Cloud Solution Architect specializing in the Aviation industry, your responsibilities are:

• Formulating and implementing an architecture strategy to facilitate the efficient and timely delivery of projects within the Business unit.
• Supervising the overarching architecture and reviewing API designs for the Digital Services Platform and middleware, including Type-B and MQ.
• Ensuring that the IT technology landscape aligns with long-term technology strategy objectives, ensuring fitness for purpose.
• Crafting enterprise cloud landscapes for platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Microservices.
• Developing cloud strategies and re-architecting enterprise applications to be cloud-na*tive.
• Creating high-level architecture plans for cloud-based applications.

The Successful Applicant

Candidates should possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in IT Architecture, ideally within the travel sector. Additionally, having a TOGAF certification or familiarity with the framework would be a valuable asset. Desired qualifications include proficiency in:

The Deputy Chief Counsel serves as a chief legal strategist and ensures the Office of the Chief Counsel provides timely and high-quality legal advice and service on high profile high-profile and inter-disciplinary inter-disciplinary agency and departmental initiatives. Additionally, the Deputy Chief Counsel for Business Operations provides executive leadership and direct oversight to the following practice areas: Employment and Labor Law; Information Law; Acquisition and Fiscal Law; Airports and Environmental Law Division, and Ethics and Compliance Division. The incumbent also oversees two Division Counsels for two FAA Lines of Business, i.e., the Air Traffic Organization and the Office of Airports.

The Deputy Chief Counsel for Business Operations is key in the formulation and administration of a $65M budget and executes the duties and responsibilities of the position via a geographically dispersed attorney workforce of approximately 150 employees, including 4 Executives and approximately 49 senior-level employees drawn from a variety of legal disciplines and professions.

Principal Responsibilities

• Directs the planning, policy development, and execution of all legal aspects relating to employment and labor law, information law, acquisition, and fiscal law, airports and environmental law, and ethics and compliance practice areas for the FAA and the Office of the Chief Counsel. Directs and coordinates legal sufficiency review of programs and policies to ensure program activities are consistent with the priorities of the FAA Administrator and Chief Counsel.
• Oversees highly visible, often controversial, legal matters. Acts independently to correct deficiencies and develop and implement program improvements.
• Oversees all legal aspects of the FAA’s international and national security programs in both headquarters and the regional office, including litigation, training, policy formation, and evaluation of services provided by client offices.
• Interacts routinely with Executives at the FAA, Department of Transportation, other Federal agencies, the private sector, and with members of Congress and their staffs to ensure the sufficiency and validity of legal analysis provided for the purpose of policy execution.
• Defines, acquires, and allocates budget, staff, and other resources in coordination with the Chief Counsel and Executive Director for Operations. Plans, coordinates, executes functions, assigns resources, and reallocates resources and workload as necessary to accomplish critical agency and office objectives. In your role, you will:

• Perform calculation, analysis and documentation of certified and /or operational aircraft performance data;

• Provide your expertise of aircraft performance to other engineering group;

• Participate in the creation and/or update of aircraft level models through analyses and/or flight test data review; 

• Redact and review technical reports demonstrating compliance with airworthiness regulations;

As our ideal candidate,

• You hold a Bachelor’s Degree or Master in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering – having a PhD in Engineering directly related to his/her job is a plus;

• You have over 5 years of experience relevant to aircraft performance and specifically deep knowledge on flight test data reduction methods, on aircraft performance models generation and on models change impact assessment of aircraft performance data. Has exposure to the certification process on Part 25 aircraft;

• You have a deep understanding of modelling methods; more precisely, for models to calculate stall speeds, and performance data for takeoff, climb, cruise and descent phases. Knowledge of steep approach performance data modelling is a plus;

• You have a passion for aviation;

• You are detail oriented and have a good sense for process optimization
