Assistant HR Manager
The role of Assistant HR Manager will be based within our new Head Office location at Cambuslang Investment Park, Cambuslang, Glasgow (with the option of some hybrid working which can be discussed at interview stage).
With the full support of the Group HR and People Manager, the Assistant HR Manager will play a pivotal role in helping to manage the day-to-day duties but also getting involved in some key exciting projects to help define and improve policies and practices across the business. This role would suit an HR generalist with strong ER experience and a proven track record of project work to increase efficiencies and add value.
A background in the care sector may be advantageous but we also welcome applications from those who are seeking to challenge themselves in a new industry.
Responsibilities will include:
- Assist the Group HR Manager in overseeing the daily activities within the HR team, providing support and guidance to the HR Associates and Social Media Coordinator.
- Supporting our management teams in all thing’s employee relations, developing their expertise in managing disciplinary, grievance, fair treatment, absence and capability and performance related issues.
- Provide training and guidance to managers on relevant processes, best practice, and risks to enhance and develop their skills.
- With the support of the HR Associates, you will take the lead on short term and long-term absence management, including capability cases.
- Alongside the day-to-day you will have the opportunity to work on a number of exciting projects such as policy review, reward and recognition, well-being, engagement, recruitment and retention, appraisals, communications and systems improvements.

- Provide direct support to our team members, supporting with more complex queries, dealing with complaints; informally where possible to reach a resolution and encourage a positive, solution focussed working environment.
- Collation of employee feedback to share with the wider management team and support with action plans as required.

- Support with the management of sponsorship applications, tracking and queries.

- Collating reports on a range of HR KPI’s, including analysis and recommendations.
- Maintaining the relevant trackers, you’ll produce reports to aid the management and monitoring of employee relations activity.
Qualifications and skills:
- Up to date knowledge of employment law.
- Strong experience of managing complex employee relations issues.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Proven ability to work effectively to tight deadlines and in pressurised situations.
- Proven ability of balancing a wide range of different activities and conflicting demands.
- Proven ability to coach and influence key stakeholders.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
- Due to occasional travel required to Care Homes/ other office locations and events a driving licence is essential.
- CIPD Level 5 / or Degree qualification in HR management or similar essential
