The Distributed Energy Resource Intake Analyst will develop processes and procedures to assist ENMAX customers in implementing Micro-generation and Distributed Generation applications. The Analyst will educate customers to create awareness of grid requirements and ENMAX/AUC/AESO policies on generation sources connected to the ENMAX grid by developing and maintaining excellent business relations and building confidence in the ENMAX brand.
Major Responsibilities:
Intake customer Micro-Generation and Distributed Generation (collectively known as DER) applications and ensure ENMAX stakeholders review their respective sections.
Ensure that DER applications adhere to the requirements set by the Alberta Utilities Commission, ENMAX Corporation, Alberta Electrical Utility Code, Canadian Electrical code and Occupational Health and Safety rules and regulations.
Provide support and guidance to DER customers and consultants to meet AUC requirements.
Arrange meter exchanges and commissioning of customer accounts ready for micro-generation, provide meter data to Regulated Market Services to ensure proper customer bill handling.
Verify/Inspect customer installations meet ENMAX Revenue Metering Standard Requirements.
Provide input to Revenue Metering Quality department for ensuring policies align with market developments in DER.
Coordinate with Key Accounts Manager to provide input on ENMAX DER Connection guide and develop requirements for new DER technologies.
Education Required:
Electrical Engineering Technologist Diploma (or related) technical degree or diploma, with a minimum of 5 years related experience.
Qualifications & Experience:
Experience sizing Micro Generation systems in accordance with AUC regulation is an asset
5+ years technical customer support experience
Understanding of measurement Canada regulations with regards to bi-directional meters
Understanding of IEEE & CSA 107.1 standards on DER & communications
Experience interpreting meter readings, displays and meter program settings is an asset.
Demonstrated ability to read and interpret Single Line Diagrams
Proven ability to do basic single and three phase power calculations.
Understanding of the following AUC regulations - Rule 024, AUC electric utilities act, microgeneration regulation
Must be computer literate and proficient with Microsoft Office

Salary: Technologist Level D (Current CUPE 2024 rates)
