Job Requirements:

Organizational Function and Responsibilities:

This position instructs adult students at the technical diploma and associate degree levels, as well as to provide continuing education and customized training for business and industry. Instructors develop learner-centered instructional strategies, collaborative curriculum and assessments for continuous improvement.

This position reports to the Associate Dean in the School of Technologies and Trades.

Essential Duties:

Quality Control Technology related program faculty teach in the following program areas:

The duties listed below outline general expectations of part-time faculty. Each academic program will have specific teaching assignments that will be developed at the time of hiring, based on the department’s needs.

1. Plan, develop, and implement appropriate instructional strategies, including alternative delivery strategies when appropriate.
2. Assist and advise students who have problems with assignments, tests, grades, course content, career concerns, and other academic matters.
3. Research, develop, and administer skills assessments before, during and after courses and services with an emphasis on evaluating student performance in courses taught by the instructor.
4. Participate in instructional and curriculum articulation activities with other programs and other divisions of instruction.
5. Comply with college policies and directions regarding student testing record keeping, advanced standing, providing grades on a timely basis, maintaining office hours for student assistance and counseling, etc.
6. Work closely with the College’s Business and Industry Services division to support the training needs of business partners and/or clients.
7. Maintain competencies as an instructor as aligned with the Faculty Quality Assurance System.
8. Comply with all aspects of Board policies, work rules, and the appropriate collective bargaining agreement.
9. Attend division, department and advisory committee meetings.
10. Develop and implement strategies aimed at the retention of students of color, female students, English Language Learners (ELL), and students with disabilities.
11. Participate in appropriate staff development activities such as diversity awareness, technology training, etc.
12. Demonstrate a commitment to the college’s mission, vision and values.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

1. Knowledge of current educational methods and strategies, including learner-centered instruction, assessment, evaluation and collaborative techniques and strategies that address closing the gap in student access and achievement across race, gender and disability.

Qualifications:

1.  Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering, Quality Control,  Technology Education, Career and Technical Education, or a closely related discipline.

2. Two (2) years of relevant work experience for the discipline.

• One (1) year (2,000 hours) of related work experience must be within the past five (5) years.

• Two (2) years of full-time equivalent teaching experience in a related area at an accredited college within the past five (5) years may be substituted for the one (1) year of related work experience within the past five (5) years.

OR

One of the following credentials:

1a. The completion of an apprenticeship with the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development, Bureau of Apprenticeship Standards OR with a federally registered program.

1b. A signed letter from a representative of an appropriate and authorized apprenticeship advisory committee.

2. Seven (7) years or 14,000 hours of related work experience.

• If no Associate's degree, expectation to obtain an Associate's degree within three (3) years of employment.

The job holder is to work with PI and the research team to conduct Research Characterizing Airborne Pollutants in Urban Environment.

The research activities involve (but not limited to):

• Operating a wide variety of instruments, data retrieval
• Laboratory chemical analyses and speciation
• Modeling chemical reactions of airborne pollutants
• Assisting and contributing to project deliverables, including,

Qualifications

The Training & Quality Manager will be responsible for overseeing the daily training and quality management operations aimed at achieving business objectives.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an Advanced Practitioner - Quality, Teaching & Learning Improvement (QTLI) to support our journey to excellence across Leeds City College, Keighley College and Harrogate College. This is a new role that will be integral to the development of Teaching Learning & Assessment (TLA) across our curriculum departments.

As the Advanced Practitioner (QTLI) you will be part of a credible and experienced central TLA team providing excellent customer service and support for curriculum departments in helping them to drive forward the Luminate TLA Strategy, alongside the improvement plans for their areas.

You will be an innovative teacher with a proven record of 'good or better' teaching, learning and assessment practice. Responsibilities will include coaching staff, completing short lesson visits and learning walks, delivering training to maximise the development of our staff and working alongside curriculum managers to plan and measure the impact of quality improvement strategies in their areas.

We would be particularly interested in applicants who can demonstrate a track record of implementing TLA strategies with impact, leading changing and innovation and/or have previous experience in mentoring and coaching staff to bring about improvements. There will be a requirement to deliver teaching in a curriculum department appropriate to your skills and expertise (1 day a week).
