SUMMARY

The intern position would provide a hybrid of Purchasing and Sourcing support within our Global Procurement Supply Chain (GPSC) team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

This role will be responsible for the setup and maintaining existing suppliers within the Pierce database. Prepare weekly reports for department leads to assist in decision making for the company.   Partner with cross functional team to gather part drawings and additional part information to support the GPSC sourcing team. Maintain and develop relationships with suppliers to obtain cross references of part numbers. Liaison between GPSC and Engineering to provide updated part drawings to the supplier Partner with internal cross functional teams to process internal purchasing requests for non-inventory parts and services.  Complete tax-exempt certificates as needed Assist other team members with the GPSC team with mass price updates in the company ERP system. Partner with cross functional team to obtain data to assist with pull estimated date of arrival and annual usages for sourcing team Assist with internal training for the new Supplier Portal.  Assist with department improvement projects. Assist GPSC with past due orders and critical shortages.

• Student working towards a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field for entire duration of internship.

Finance

We’re currently looking for an IT Internal Controls Lead to work collaboratively with IT, Finance, and various Audit entities to evaluate risk and related internal controls.

This position will oversee and serve as the primary contact and resource for teammates within various Divisions and Corporate functions who are responsible for IT control related activities and will provide ongoing support and guidance. This role will be responsible for supporting the IT JSOX Controls remotely.

• Support the JSOX IT general control (ITGC) framework and related activities.

• Confirm that ITGC’s and JSOX control frameworks are organized, maintained, and measured across the Corporate IT environment.

• Provide insight regarding financial risk, Application and IT Controls, and their relationship with IT systems.

• Interact with and support Financial/IT Audit engagements.

• Interface with IT stakeholders and service providers to validate that adequate short-term mitigations and long-term sustainable remediations for open findings are in place for any control deficiencies.

• Experience in access role architecture design or in providing advisory/auditing services over ERP access roles.

• Understanding of business process risk and related controls. 

• Experience in mitigating risks associated with Segregation of Duties issues both systematically through role and access changes as well as manually to address that systemic access was not exploited.

• Prepare reports/presentations on the status of the compliance process for stakeholders including, but not limited to process owners, senior management, executive management, and Audit Committee.

• Bachelor and / or master’s degree in finance, Accounting, Information Technology or Information Security

• CPA is preferred.

• 4+ years of experience working with or auditing IT General Controls in a SOX or JSOX compliant entity.

• Experience working with large-scale ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle

• GRC Access Control is preferred but not required.

• Big 4 public accounting experience with Fortune 500 clients is preferred.

• Relevant industry certifications (e.g.  CISA, CRISC, ITIL, etc) is preferred

What You’ll Do

KBR is looking for highly motivated rising Juniors, Seniors and Graduate students seeking science, engineering and software development opportunities that provide challenging and meaningful work experience to be a part of our 2024 Intern class. 

KBR is looking to develop an automated solution that will improve our ability to be competitive in the contracting industry while reducing our effort to be more successful. Building a system that automatically allows us to observe opportunities that align with KBR's business objectives and allow us to definitively act when those opportunities match our abilities, improving our response time and remove manual effort to identify, respond to and win (RFI) Request for Information/(RFP) Request for Purchase's.  Automation allows us to standardize the process via a system and reduce our cycles through process standardization.  The software solution that would be developed through this internship would allow us to set criteria for the work that we can act upon and then set process milestones based on the needed delivery date. This will allow proper tracking of the process and identify the appropriate business owners responsible for delivering the winning response. 

As a National Security Solutions Intern, you will:

• Develop a user interface, Data Warehouse, Selection Criteria Algorithm, and an automated workflow that will drive the opportunity process.  
• Identify Tech Stack
• Identify Users to provide discovery feedback.
• Identify process milestones and resource notification points.
• Identify and develop a staging and production environment.
• Identify equipment needed and standup up hardware.
• Develop a User Interface and Data warehouse structure.
• Develop Workflow and notification vehicles and logging.
• Develop process reporting/visualization.  

Selected interns for this paid opportunity will be provided with the opportunity to mentor with experienced professionals, gain experience and establish a name for themselves in this high demand career field. 

Anticipated Skill Set:

• Computer science software programming experience with Python, Java, and/or C/C++
• Experience working in DevSecOps software factory pipelines.
• Experience in Artificial Intelligence (AI)/Machine Learning (ML) and Systems Architect
• Comfortable with documenting plans and results in Word or PowerPoint
• Comfortable working in an Agile development methodology
• Major field of study: Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Software Engineers.

You will play a key role in:
