WHAT YOU WILL DO

Provides technical expertise for all equipment-related activities in the manufacturing process and supports IPT Maintenance Technicians. The incumbent:

• Supports Senior Manager and maintenance to meet Profit Plan targets, optimize IPT cost-effectiveness, and lower product standard cost in accordance with cGMP and Safety guidelines, with particular emphasis on equipment maintenance costs.
• Executes maintenance, improvement, E &I and M&I maintenance activities within the IPT, ensures preventative maintenance is completed according to schedule requirements, and supports equipment change control implementations.
• Implements technical solutions to improve equipment uptime and asset utilization through the use of a Continuous Improvement mindset (Lean methodologies) and coaching of a team within sphere of influence - be that Maintenance, Operations or GTO staff.
• Utilise technical skills to lead deviation/atypical investigations, and safety incidents and ensure effective root cause analysis is conducted.

MAIN RESPONSBILITIES

Corrective Maintenance

• Ensures resolution and timely follow-up of identified facility related equipment issues, unplanned events, and new opportunities identified by Senior Manager, Maintenance during daily walkthrough.
• Ensures equipment breakdowns are resolved in a timely manner and updates the Preventive Maintenance Plan.
• Provides technical expertise and support the IPT Maintenance Technicians for equipment breakdown, troubleshooting and recovery to ensure the timely and effective resolution of issues.
• Preventive Maintenance & Equipment Reliability.
• Works with Engineering & SHE CoE to execute a reliability-centered maintenance plan and to share best practices and lessons learned, with the objective of improving asset utilization.
• Ensures all planned internal and external Preventive Maintenance activities are executed and completed.
• Ensures equipment downtime does not exceed capacity planning assumptions.
• Updates equipment critical spare part list and sets minimum re-order levels as directed by Senior Manager, Maintenance.

Compliance - Safety & Quality

• All activities undertaken by self and team are conducted as per Site Safety and quality systems. E.g. GCMs, LOTO, calibration & permit entries etc.
• Proactively challenge current activities to reduce both safety risk to employees as well as quality risks to both product and facilities.
• Lead Safety or Quality investigations - exhibit ability to lead a cross-functional team in driving towards root cause and establishing CAPAs that address "true root cause" and prevent re-occurrence. Agreed actions are closed on-time.

Continuous Improvements (Cl)

• Utilizes Lean methodologies such as 5S, Standard Work, real-time problem solving {RTPS), to support execution of continuous improvement activities to drive improved equipment robustness, reduced equipment downtime, elimination of both safety and quality risks in operation/ cleaning and maintenance activities.
• Supports development of a continuous improvement framework within the Maintenance group and works with the Senior Manager, Maintenance to identify opportunities
• Supports the Reliability & Maintenance COE in executing reliability based programs and completing follow on corrective actions.

Financial Stewardship

• Undertakes activities to support realization of production, IPT cost effectiveness, and product cost reduction targets set for the IPT in the Profit Plan, with particular emphasis on equipment reliability and maintenance expenses.
• Monitors IPT maintenance program to ensure cost effectiveness including: spare parts levels, frequency of scheduled PM and equipment breakdowns.

People Management

• Works with Senior Manager, Maintenance to implement personal objectives for team that are realistic, achievable, and drive improved technical competence and a "Lean mindset" (in alignment with MPS).
• Provides timely continuous feedback to direct reports, and IPT maintenance members. Appropriate rewards to Team members based on performance and demonstration of the our leadership standards.

Responsibilities:

• Report progress directly to the technical manager regarding scheduled vessel machinery or equipment shutdown for maintenance, repair, and servicing of marine machinery and subsystems conducted by subordinates.
• Supervise a team of mechanics for safe shutdown, isolation, overhaul, calibration, commissioning, and testing of marine main propulsion 4-stroke diesel engines, auxiliary machinery, cargo pumps, deck machinery, and monitor daily work activities and progress.
• Lead a group of electrical engineers, automation engineers, or electro-hydraulic engineers on matters related to fault diagnosis, safe isolation, status, and related work.
• Collaborate with subordinates to plan and instruct daily activities related to repairing machinery, equipment, or system fault diagnosis.
• Execute tasks such as preventive and corrective maintenance safely and effectively in workshops or onboard vessels, such as engine rooms, pump rooms, or decks.
• Ensure all site executions adhere to maintenance work procedures following maker’s standards, safety processes, and/or Class requirements to ensure quality, asset integrity, and operational reliability.
• Report any problems or issues with site work or subordinates to the Technical Manager.
• Supervise, guide, track, and report on the assembly completion, alignment, re-commissioning, and testing of mechanical and rotary equipment performed by mechanics to ensure machinery reliability upon startup.
• Maintain calibration, spares replacement records, and test logs of serviced machinery and equipment.
• Perform equipment or system testing, commissioning, inspections, and Pre-Startup Safety Reviews before handing over to the technical team upon maintenance or project completion.
• Assist in maintaining spare parts inventory levels in the warehouse, support delivery checks by suppliers, and maintain good preservation and housekeeping in the workspace.
• Identify critical paths in a repair or maintenance process and highlight countermeasures to the technical team.
• Participate in regular toolbox talks and other meetings as required.
• Execute periodical tests and verifications to ensure special tools, lifting equipment, and safety appliances are in good working condition.
• Execute pre-commissioning activities with subordinates related to mechanical, rotary, or hydraulic equipment (e.g., alignment checks, under-piston or crankcase inspections, seal checks, supports checks, piping connection checks, lubrication, preservation condition, priming, and purging, etc.) in accordance with the pre-commissioning procedure.
• Execute pre-commissioning activities with subordinates related to electrical or automation equipment (e.g., alignment checks, bump tests, electrical connection checks, alarms, and safety trips, etc.) in accordance with the pre-commissioning procedure.
• Be familiar with Engineering PI&D, hydraulic and pneumatic circuitry, and electrical drawings.
• Be familiar with welding and thermal methodology repair requirements, metallurgy, and material selection.
• Be familiar with LOTO (Lock Out & Tag Out) and Risk Assessment processes.
• Plan weekly activities according to the priority given by the technical team and ensure smooth workflow.
• Ensure all subordinates practice and comply with the permit-to-work system and good HSE practices.
• Produce weekly maintenance reports for the Technical Manager.
• Plan attendance with mechanics for vessels in shipyards for repair, attend daily VSCC meetings, and ensure daily tasks and commissioning activities are highlighted during meetings.
• Carry out other urgent tasks as required by the Technical Manager.

Requirements:

• Preferably have sea-going or offshore experience as a marine engineer MEO in compliance with STCW Standard of Competencies, 3000 KW or more, meeting STCW Standard A-III/3 at least.
• Strong background in shipyard repair as a project manager, project supervisor, or Ship Repair Manager is an added advantage.
• Service engineer experience with marine diesel engines, turbochargers, or marine equipment servicing is an added advantage.
• Good academic qualifications in tertiary education in Marine Engineering, Marine Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or Aero Engineering are an added advantage.
• Familiarity with regulatory and legislative environments in the shipping industry.
• Able to communicate fluently.
• Medically fit to work onshore in workshops as well as onboard vessels in Singapore anchorage or in shipyards.

Responsibilities

• Lead FFDC automation maintenance team in performing regular preventive/corrective/ predictive / ad hoc on storage systems, equipment, and packaging machines that would ensure optimal operation with minimal disruption to supply chain’s operation.
• Lead technicians in diagnosing and repair malfunctioning complex logistics and packaging equipment.
• Leads team in determine root causes of failures using statistical methods and recommend changes in designs, tolerances, or processing methods.
• Leads automation team in modifications of robotic and automation systems.
• Work closely with operation teams to ensure that all automation equipment and processes meet safety standards and comply with company policies.
• Prepare reports about system performance and breakdowns from shift engineers, field technicians for management’s review and data compilation.
• Responsible and accountable for inventory control of critical spares parts, ensuring parts availability through early parts purchase.
• Partner with IT team and storage system vendor to troubleshoot system disruptions ensuring prompt recovery.
• Ensures successful handover of completed automation project to Operations team, and provision of support to other functions (when required).
• Lead team to formulate work instructions / safety risk assessment / Continuous improvement projects.
• To be able to guide staff in identifying and resolve process related issues.
• Ability to calculate and identify bottlenecks in process flow to prevent bottlenecks and formulate backup plans with operations team as a preventive measure.
• Site budget management
• Any other ad hoc duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Min Bachelor's Degree in Electrical & Electronic / Mechatronics / Mechanical/ Industrial Engineering or related field.
• Min. 3 years' relevant experience in maintenance of automation systems for logistics industries and e-commerce / retail industries.
• Experience in end to end project implementation for Robotics and Industrial Engineering
• Excellent Communication and Stakeholder Management Skills
• Knowledge in using AutoCAD would be advantageous but not critical.
• Experience in goods to person / Warehouse control systems / WMS Integration software would be advantageous.
• Experience in Automatic Storage and Retrieval System, Conveyor, lifting systems and Warehouse Management System in cold chain environment would be advantageous.
• Hands on experience is preferred.
• Competency in electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
• Knowledge of commonly used automation operation software from market common vendors would be preferred. (WCS/RCS/Interfaces)
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
