About this opportunity

The primary purpose of the Production Manager is the overall management and performance of end-to-end operations producing an estimated 5,000 tonnes of recycled resin per year.

The Production Manager is responsible for managing operations of the plastic recycling plant. Whilst this position will be a day shift role, you will have four direct reports Maintenance Fitter & three Shift Leaders, operating on a 24/5 roster at the Wacol facility which will result in non-frequent site meetings across all shifts and supporting any breakdowns that occur.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

• Lead by example, across all areas of accountability including WHSE, Quality, and Leadership, promoting a Zero Harm Culture at all times
• Identify process capability and product “fit for manufacture” issues which impact quality performance
• Actively work with HR and the General Manager to develop, train and succession plan across the operation
• Manage the ER / IR programs across the business and ensure effective industrial climate to deliver the business outcomes
• Work closely with the Maintenance team to ensure production efficiency (OEE) meets the customer and business requirements, embedding a continuous improvement culture
• Monitor and report on operational KPI’s and initiate corrective actions via continuous improvement activities
