Job Summary
Contribute the design and develop innovative products and custom components for the healthcare industry in line with Nordson MEDICAL strategic goals and product roadmap. Learn and support the activities and projects of product management department and Engineers within the guidelines of company policies and product development procedures.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Assists with product testing related to new product development and ECO’s including documenting test results in MS Office programs (such as Excel and Word), as aasigned by Senior Engineers or Manager.
- Perform routine engineering functions which require application of standard techniques, procedures, and judgment in designing and developing products.
- Assist in the creation and update of detailed engineering drawings from concept drawings and manage CAD files within Product Data Management system.
- Utilize CAD software to create concepts to assist in the creation of Nordson MEDICAL Products or Equipment.
- Work in conjunction with the Product Manager and/or senior engineers to document test protocols/test data spreadsheets, and perform design evaluation and validation tests of products and store all information in company Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) System.
- Design, procure materials, and assemble fixtures and/or gages to assist in testing and inspection of Nordson MEDICAL Products
- Utilize VPI engineering process flows, work instructions, ISO procedures, templates, etc.
- Performs a variety of specialized work with technical assistance provided as required by Engineering or the Engineering Manager.
- Creates and updates documents and objects within the companies Enterprise Resource Planning system
- Responsible for meeting scope, schedule and cost requirements of projects assigned.
- Provides accurate and timely project status updates to appropriate company team members.
- Available on occasions to work on weekends, holidays and off-hours to support company requirements.

Education and Experience Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or a University in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline is required. Juniors or Seniors Preferred.
Preferred Skills and Abilities
- Possess good analytical and reasoning skills. Must be able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Computer Skills:
- Experience in use of one or more of these software tools (i.e. Solid Works, PDMWorks, Solid Edge, Pro-E etc.) Preferred.
- Proficient in use of typical desktop hardware and software (i.e. Dell, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Basic use of MS Project.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use fingers to handle or feel and talk or hear.
The employee is frequently required to stand; walk and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to
climb or balance; stoop, kneel or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision
abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. The ability to read
and interpret details on a computer screen, drawing, or a physical part often in multiple colors is required. Work in a
manufacturing/tool room environment (i.e. coolants, metal chips, noise up to 80 db etc.), and manufacturing cells where plastic injection parts are produced (i.e. plastic dust, pneumatic pick & place robots, material grinders, etc.). May fluctuate work time from 90% at a computer work station to 90% in a lab or production environment. Requires frequent periods of time working in injection molding, assembly and tool room areas.
