Summary of the position:

Job Description

The Data Governance Lead will be responsible to establish, implement and operationalize data governance in NUS.

• Develop and maintain data governance policies, standards and processes
• Provide oversight and advisory to business and IT in the operationalisation of data governance
• Partner with data governance representatives from other departments to ensure compliance with data privacy, security and regulatory requirements
• Promote and lead data governance awareness and educational campaigns with different levels of stakeholders
• Lead master data governance initiatives, and facilitate the necessary change management for implementation across IT systems
• Lead data quality initiatives and collaborate with stakeholders to track and resolve data quality issues
• Lead metadata initiatives and collaborate with stakeholders to develop data catalog and data lineage
• Lead data governance technology exploration and implementation
• Lead data management and/or analytics projects when required

Qualifications

• Degree in Information Technology or equivalent with at least 7 years of relevant experience in a similar role
• Proven track record with development and operationalisation of data governance policies, standards and processes
• Well versed with data quality, metadata and master data management
• Knowledge of PDPA and/or GDPR and data protection techniques such as PII data anonymization
• Experience with managing multiple data governance implementation using data governance tools
• Solid SQL and data profiling skills
• Good knowledge of big data, data warehousing and/or analytics
• Strong change management skills and/or experience in managing digital transformation initiatives
• Excellent oral, written and communication skills with the ability to manage different levels of stakeholders effectively
• Strong business process and analytical skills with the ability to assimilate information quickly, and communicate complex requirements and issues clearly and concisely
• Must be a good team player, proactive in nature, fast learner, highly organized and positive attitude
• Knowledge or experience with AI governance is a plus

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. MBA or relevant professional certification (e.g., CFA, CPA) is a plus. We welcome Master's degree holders in financial management to apply.
• Overseas study experience is preferred.
• Proficiency in Mandarin is required for effective communication with clients and partners.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in financial management, preferably within the education consultancy or related industry.
• Proven experience in budgeting, financial analysis, and strategic financial planning.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Overseas study experience, especially in a financial management specialization, is highly preferred.
