Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Technical Design Director to join our team! In this role you will get to Provide management and direction for one of the large Engineering disciplines, or may have a special assignment such as Manager of the Quality Program, or Operations Manager for the department, or Manager over all engineering disciplines on a large job, typically exceeding $250 million in total installed cost.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Reviews and approves discipline staffing budget estimates and staffing assignment schedules on each project.

• Reviews and approves staff forecasting reports.

• Monitors the quality and progress of the discipline on each project, ensuring that production requirements are satisfied.

• Works closely with Project Managers to resolve any existing or forecasted problems related to discipline staffing, quality of work, schedule performance or productivity.

• Establishes standards and procedures manuals for the discipline. Recommends improvements to department procedures.

• Supervises the preparation of the discipline's annual salary plan and controls salary actions within the approved plan.

• Responsible for overall managerial and technical direction of the discipline. Recruits, interviews, and evaluates prospective employees.

• Hires, offers personnel development, conducts performance evaluations, counsels, takes corrective action, as required and approves terminations. Ensures that new employees receive orientation on company policies and procedures.

• Supports pre-contract and business development efforts as required, serving as technical consultant.

• Ensures performance within overhead budgets assigned to the discipline.

• Actively participates in and promotes the Quality Improvement Program.

• Heads a committee within the discipline, striving to motivate and educate the assigned personnel.

• Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (or related field) and typically 20+ years of related work experience, including significant managerial experience of a large group of Engineers, Designers, and technical support personnel. Professional Engineer registration with active membership in a professional engineering society may be required

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

• Proven ability for managing a large group of engineering/technical personnel and directing work involving complex technical situations, excellent written and oral communications skills, and a thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations are required.

• Must also possess a thorough knowledge of current technology and the capabilities and efficiencies of specific engineering software for use in completing engineering assignments.

Minimum Qualifications

• 5 years of experience developing conversational interaction models using platforms such as Alexa Skills
• Bachelor’s degree in cognitive science, interaction design, computer science, linguistics, psychology, HCI, human factors, other related field or equivalent work experience

• 10+ years’ experience in IT, Product or Design, 5+ years' experience specifically in AI or Automation technology

As the Director of Conversational Design, you'll shape the vision for the design and development of AI powered virtual assistants. You'll provide direction and guidance for your team’s overall growth and output and build a strong conversational design practice and influence product and business strategy. THE JOB

As Director, Product Design - Enterprise, Service Design you will be working closely with your primary team, the Enterprise Core, while using Service Design methodologies & principles to bridge the rest of the business to the Core platform. You will work closely with design leadership partners in Marketplace, Enterprise, Sports as well as other key business functions, such as Engineering, Architecture, Marketing and Operations, to ensure linearity and parity of services via language, terminology & experiences across our Ticketmaster ecosystem.

Enterprise Core product area focuses on back-end systems and services that power nearly all of our client and fan offerings. As our first lead of our Service Design function, you have a unique opportunity to shape and define the direction of the team, its processes and how it’ll partner with the rest of the Design, Tech and Product partners across the portfolio.

You will be responsible for managing a small team to begin with, and evangelizing its purpose, value and impact across the business. You will manage stakeholder expectations, align service-design objectives to product roadmaps, and develop frameworks & templates to optimize your mission schedules to ensure strategic goals and timelines are met. You will be capable of solutioning for diverse problem sets, defining new frameworks, independently conducting ideation workshops to bring further alignment.

With other design and function leads, you will champion the work to map our services. You will be accountable for researching and documenting full processes on various granularity levels. You will provide short- and medium-term service design strategy, research & vision, and design program management at global level, and contribute to medium to long term growth initiatives as required. You will also help build a bench of next generation design leaders for Ticketmaster and guide them to innovate and excel.

You will be accountable for the overall success and performance of your areas, but also how our service design and future-facing vision stack up against the exceptionally competitive and ever-changing digital & ticketing landscape. You will also be measured on how successful your stream leads have cascaded Ticketmaster’s exceptionally high design standards and principles into their teams’ day-to-day product objectives and deliveries. WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

Product Delivery, Strategic Development and Alignment

• Help define and position new, best-in-class service design function at Ticketmaster
• Understand short-, medium- and long-term vision and strategic business goals of Ticketmaster and the Design department.
• Synthesize complex business requirements into insights-driven service design strategies and roadmaps and bring clarity, parity, and unity to complex, cross-ecosystem missions
• Be responsible for the definition and standards of success, its measurement and continual optimization of methodologies and processes in your area
• Develop holistic view of product portfolio, collaborate with business leads on better service and user experience development, and integrate/evolve aligned solutions into a cohesive fan, client and internal experiences

• Develop a robust Service Design program and design & research partnerships to capture, evaluate, inform and validate domain, products and service decisions at macro and micro level
• Develop scalable and modular frameworks and artefacts to provide consistency and efficiency to the team’s approach and output.
• Educate and influence wider business through understandable Service Design artefacts. Provide empirical and quantifiable reference point/rationale for design decisions. Document artefacts in an easily accessible place.
• Track and report Service Design value to senior stakeholders.
• Collaborate with other Design leaders to manage and evolve Global Design System and Design departmental resource libraries
• Build strong relationships with Enterprise Core Product, Architecture and Engineering peers to ensure regular ceremonies and touchpoints are in place for fluid and natural collaboration

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

• Deep experience leading teams and designing cross-channel, services and products at global and enterprise-scale. Experience working in complex, global organizations non-negotiable.
• Proven track record of launching successful service design solutions to market and crafting comprehensive service design strategies 
• Proven experience in multi-stream team and line management, professional development and mentoring
• Expert grounding in Service & UX Design principles, methodology and practices of digital product design with proven hands-on experience in a working environment, i.e. Service/UX design, research, architecture and content strategy, etc.

THE ROLE

As Associate Design Director at Enterprise Revenue and Demand you will be assigned to the Revenue and Demand Platform area, where you’ll be focusing on the tools that enable our clients to enhance their events to reach their full potential. The tools include premium insights and data tools, marketing suite and dynamic pricing services.

You will be managing a team of designers – all responsible for Revenue and Demand tooling. You and your team will be accountable for researching and documenting full processes on various granularity levels whilst working with other design leads and management to ensure an industry-leading overall client experience.
You will join a globally distributed team and you’ll work on a compelling global client offering.

You will be responsible for managing stakeholder expectations, aligning Design objectives to Product roadmaps, and developing achievable schedules to ensure strategic goals and timelines are met. You will be capable of solutioning for diverse problem sets, defining new frameworks, independently conducting ideation workshops to bring further alignment.

You’ll keep skills fresh and be able to share best practices, technical trends and developments with the wider team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide leadership steer and guidance to your team by working closely with leadership across the business to develop our strategic goals, as well as build a tactical plan to deliver value and support development cycle
• Champion the use of core information architecture and design expertise to take product design deliverables through a full project lifecycle
• Lead user/market, guide your team to map client’s current and desired flow.

REQUIREMENTS

• Thorough grounding in principles, methodology and practices of Product Design with proven hands-on experience in a working environment, i.e. UX design, UX research, interaction design
• An outstanding portfolio with cross-platform service design works
• Experience working on SaaS or complex multi-app platform will be a strong advantage but not a must
• Ability to drive a range of innovative and compositionally strong design solutions
• Fully conversant in one or more industry software
• Ability to think creatively and present concepts clearly to stakeholders and team members
• An understanding of capabilities and limitation of technologies that are used to create powerful interactive experiences
• A strong understanding of best/tried and true as well as current trends in UX/UI practices and cross-platform development
• Management experience, understanding how to empower and build a successful Design team.

What You’ll Do 

Design, Engineering and Construction (DEC) is the primary Capital Project delivery arm for design and construction projects at DEN. DEC manages over $325 million worth of design and construction projects annually at the airport-, including new and existing roadways, runways, taxiways, utilities, mechanical systems, loading bridges, office remodeling, electrical infrastructure, roofing, and drainage focusing on sustainability, total-cost of ownership, and excellence in design. Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) seeks a Director of Academic Administration to join its Academic Affairs group. Academic Affairs supports the work of faculty, departments and students across all divisions. 

The Director of Academic Administration plays a central role in the establishment and application of academic policies, in the seamless operations of academic affairs at all levels, and in the compliance with contractual obligations. Directly reporting to the Provost, the Director ensures that divisional course allocations, staffing, leaves, and all matters related to faculty professional lives occur according to institutional priorities and accreditation requirements, and that they are systemically organized in an effective manner. The Director works collaboratively with other members of the Academic Affairs leadership team to translate curricular requirements into administrative tasks and to operationalize them for various constituencies at the institution. Because of the direct and frequent work with faculty, the Director holds deep knowledge of the collective bargaining agreements and participates in labor-relation conversations, as well as the articulation of various memoranda.

Essential Functions:  
1. Contracts & Compliance
●    Responsible for administrating faculty hiring and for ensuring and maintaining accurate faculty employment and compensation records and ensuring alignment with HR for compliance matters. Issue adjunct contracts and prepare information for payroll. Troubleshoot pay issues independently or in concert with campus partners, as needed.
●    Direct the production and related paper and digital student evaluations of faculty for each term of the academic year including the distribution of communication to faculty, students, and academic leadership. Ensure archiving of paper and digital evaluations and periodic purges of those no longer relevant in accordance with internal processes, including but not limited to the Bargaining Agreement.
●    Serve as a resource for faculty and academic staff negotiations as needed. Serve as a resource relative to faculty issues for various offices on campus in accordance with collective bargaining obligations, institutional policies and processes.

●    May provide documentation for and liaise with internal partners or external legal counsel regarding employment visas and permanent resident status for faculty. 

2. Administrative Systems
●    In collaboration with academic leadership, internal subject matter experts and with knowledge of best practices, review, evaluate and lead process reengineer efforts to simplify, streamline and ensure compliance with a range of operational processes.
●    Coordinate course tables used for year-long curriculum and budget planning. Liaise with departments, divisions, and the office of the Registrar to set up and maintain course information in RISD’s system(s) of record and to produce course announcements.
●    Acquire and maintain a deep understanding of Workday and related academic processes to ensure efficient and accurate workstreams, business processes, and tasks. Partners with ITS and internal subject matter experts to lead and ensure systems function as intended. Identify and recommend opportunities for improvement or efficiency and implement as approved. 
●    Implement faculty promotions, salary reviews, sabbaticals, and other leaves in Workday. Prepare for new academic year by completing testing, auditing, and documentation of processes and actively engaging with HR Partners.
 
3. Training, Orientation, and Education
●    In collaboration with academic leadership, provide group orientations including but not limited to, dossier workshop and contract orientation and a range of other onboarding topics to provide faculty, and academic staff, and leaders with necessary tools that enable successful performance of their duties.   
●    Fact check Faculty, Department Head, and Graduate Student Instructor handbooks annually. Consult with the Associate Provost on content to be updated, removed, and/or developed.

4. Data and Reporting
●    Ensure academic data is available, reportable, shareable with offices on campus charged with data oversight and management. In partnership with the Academic Budget office, provide information for academic planning, including but not limited to faculty searches, etc. 
 
5. Committee on Faculty Appointments
●    With a high degree of confidentiality, oversee and manage the process for RISD’s Committee on Faculty Appointments, including but not limited to the creation of faculty dossier sites and distribution of correspondence following CFA decisions.

• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities. Experience with personal computers with word processing, spreadsheet and database software required.

About the Opportunity:

Established in 2021, Brown Arts Institute (BAI) is a university-wide research enterprise and catalyst for the arts at Brown that creates new work and supports, amplifies, and adds new dimensions to the creative practices of Brown’s arts departments, faculty, students, and community. Through year-round programming, research-focused courses, initiatives, collaborations, and partnerships, along with rigorous artistic and academic programs, BAI commissions and presents new work on campus, across Providence, Rhode Island, and beyond, from students, faculty, and on-campus arts groups, as well as in collaboration with forward-focused visiting artists and other performing arts organizations.

The Director of Design and Production (DDP) reports to the Artistic Director and is responsible for ensuring that the overall design and execution of productions taking place in any existing or future BAI venues meets exemplary professional standards. The DDP must maintain the highest level knowledge of all BAI venue specifics, including all technical and safety requirements, and is responsible for working closely with all programmed artists, as well as internal and external designers, to ensure that projects - including BAI commissions and transfers from other venues -  are appropriately designed for BAI venues. The DDP creates technical budgets, calendars, and staffing plans in collaboration with the Artistic Director and Producing Director, and is also responsible for identifying, recruiting, and managing all technical staff assigned to the BAI and BAI venues.  An active participant in the engineering, planning and execution of designs for all productions, the DDP, when necessary, submits designs to shops or rental houses to solicit bids and manages fabrication or rentals to meet set, costume, lighting, sound, and projection needs. The DDP ensures that standards of safety are observed by serving as the Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) representative for the BAI. The DDP may play a direct role in instructing students by offering design and production classes at the discretion of the BAI Leadership, and provide mentorship for those engaged in the production-oriented aspects of BAI offerings.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
●    Work with Artistic Director, Producing Director, Director of Programs and Operations, and internal and external teams to ensure all production and design needs of BAI produced events are met, are professionally managed, and are working within established budgets and BAI and University policies and procedures.
●    Recruit, train, and supervise a robust production staff including Technical Directors, Assistant Technical Directors, department supervisors, on-call-staff and student assistants as well as stage managers, carpenters, riggers, stagehands, electricians, wardrobe, lighting and sound programmers. 
●    Meet regularly with department heads and staff to ensure ideas are exchanged, responsibilities defined, staffing needs are discussed, budgets are completely outlined and understood, spending practices are appropriate; and morale is maintained. 
●    Ensure that staff complies with all health and safety guidelines.
 

Qualifications:

Education and Experience

•  BA and 5-7 years in theatrical production, design, or related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience including 4+ years in:

  • Production management

  • Design oversight

  • Budgeting and financial management

  • Operations management

  • Supervisory experience

• Proven success in managing/designing multiple, simultaneous, large-scale artistic productions in a range of disciplines.

An experienced, creative, and collaborative Director of Design and Production will play a pivotal role in the future success of the Brown Arts Institute. The DDP must enjoy collegial, collaborative relationships with the BAI Leadership Team, as well as its subordinate division leads. Open lines of communication are of the utmost importance, as the BAI programs are vast, complex, and often politically sensitive. • Primary point of contact for all architectural and engineering projects, requests, and concerns.
• Responsible for the planning and design process; planning, design and construction documents, budgets, and schedules.
• Work with design and construction professionals, user groups, leadership, and other parties to ensure that the design meets the intended use and initial conditions of satisfaction; coordinate with Facilities, Environment of Care, Safety and Security, IT, Infection Prevention, Environmental Services, Supply Chain, and other departments stakeholders.
• Serves as the initial point of contact for all building related project request; gathers project background information and documentation, develops scope documents, and establishes the conditions of satisfaction that guide the project design.
• Provide concept and preliminary design documents as required to develop project budgets, set schedules, and to inform leadership of building options.
• Develop design documents, drawings and specifications for all non-hospital licensed spaces, interior finish projects, and maintenance renovations.
• Manage the development of the design documents from concept to completion; ensure that all construction documents are code compliance and meet required specifications; review and approve all plans and drawings before submitted for construction.
• Provide programming and functional narratives that guide the design and as required by regulatory authorities for hospital licensed spaces.

• Develop and maintain standards for building design, building systems, fixtures and finishes
• Maintain electronic site and building drawings, life safety drawings, MEP system drawings, square footage reports, site and building maps, and other building system drawing overlays.
• Keep abreast of new developments and best practices in the field of healthcare architecture and incorporate them into future projects; utilize lean principles.

Education

• Professional degree from an NAAB-accredited university in architecture or an equivalent degree

Required Qualifications & Experience

• 8+ years of experience as an architect; 5+ years in healthcare
• In-depth knowledge of building codes, regulations, and healthcare standards
• Strong planning, design and project management skills including scheduling and financial management; PMP preferred
• Extensive experience using computer-aided design (CAD, Revit), Bluebeam, MS Office Suite
• Project management software experience (Microsoft Project, Primavera, e-Builder, etc.)

Professional Certifications
