As a Technical Art Director / CG Supervisor you will play a pivotal role in our game development process by leading and inspiring a team of technical artists and animators. Your primary responsibility will be to bridge the gap between art and technology, ensuring that our games achieve cutting-edge visuals while maintaining optimal performance on console platforms.

You will be required to work across all our studio locations with both Art Directors and Project Artists, tackling the many different production challenges faced during the natural development of console games. Building a close relationship with the many disciplines to drive both existing and future tech and tools is critical to the success of this role.

As the Technical Art/Anim Director you will report into the Global Head of Art.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Team Leadership: Build, lead and manage a team of technical artists and technical animators, providing mentorship, guidance, and support to help them excel in their roles.
2. Art and Technology Integration: Collaborate closely with art and engineering teams to drive the seamless integration of art assets and technology, focusing on optimization and efficiency, developing an understanding of the needs of the clients as well as our own internal teams.
3. Performance Optimization: Develop and implement technical art strategies to optimize game performance on console platforms, including graphics rendering, memory usage, and load times.
4. Art Pipelines: Create and maintain efficient art pipelines that ensure a smooth workflow for the art team, reducing iteration times and improving quality.
5. Visual Quality: Set and maintain high standards for visual quality, ensuring that the artistic vision is realized within the constraints of console hardware.
6. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with cross-disciplinary teams to ensure that art and technology are aligned with gameplay and design requirements.
7. Research and Development: Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies, and lead R&D efforts to incorporate innovative art techniques and tools into the development process.
8. Develop and implement: New animation tools based on both client and the project needs.     
9. Documentation and Training: Produce and maintain technical documentation for the art team and provide training and knowledge sharing on best practices and new tools.

1. Master degree qualification is preferred.

JOB SUMMARY

The Graphic & Media Design program at Marymount University invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Practice position (a nine-month academic year appointment) to teach undergraduate courses in Graphic & Media Design. The faculty will be required to teach three (3) courses in the Fall 2024 semester and three (3) courses in the Spring 2025 semester, along with responsibilities to the program and the school as determined by the School Director at the time of hiring. Faculty are expected to be engaged members of their programs and their schools. The position may be extended for the next academic year.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Teach a 3/3 course load involving some evening courses.
• Maintain office hours at times that provide appropriate access to students.
• Engaged in Program, School, and College meetings
• Develop curriculum with Graphic & Media Design faculty.
• Lead development of annual literary publication blueInk
• Assume professional and educational responsibilities as requested by the College Dean or the School Director.
• Serve as a mentor/advisor for students in the program, using your academic and work experience to prepare and guide students into a worthwhile design career in industry.
• Be engaged in a variety of enrollment and promotion activities, professional events, and career development functions for the school.
• Participate in the university community, attending all required meetings such as Faculty Council, school meetings, department meetings, and university events such as convocation, as well as engaging in the university’s professional development activities.
• Have a presence on campus and maintain office hours to support students in the program.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education

A professional degree in Graphic Design or related field

Experience

• At least 5 years professional experience in the graphic design profession.
• Highly effective teacher (full or part-time) who can demonstrate excellent educational leadership and organizational skills.
• Face-to-face teaching experience at the college level. Adjunct or full-time teaching experience is preferred.

As Head of Creative, you will be responsible for the conception, design and delivery of impactful and effective creative communications to sit across multiple channels.

Your day to day:

• Creating and evolving the creative vision with the Marketing Director at the highest level to ensure creative direction is retained and in line with our brand principles.
• Championing the creative vision, by leading the in-house creative team, to create and deliver multi-channel campaigns that meet the business objectives.

• Creating all brand guidelines and templates to ensure brand consistency across all touch points.

• Developing strong internal processes and procedures.

What you'll need to succeed:

• Strong Web development experience - JavaScript/Typescript/HTML/CSS, experience with ES6, and Web Components / React / similar UI frameworks.
• Proficient with CI/CD and automation pipelines, and be comfortable providing guidance on best practices for DevOps and SRE functions
• Experience with Agile development processes including Scrum.
• A passion for empowering mobile application and web designers to create more engaging experiences.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several  U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this position is $154,000 -- $278,800 annually. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The Department of Art and Art History at Carleton College (Northfield, MN) invites applications for a visiting faculty position in art history for 2024-2025 at the rank of assistant professor or instructor.  This position involves teaching four courses spread over two or three 10-week terms, including one-half of the introductory survey of art history, plus a mix of introductory and advanced courses, to be selected based on the successful applicant’s interests and specialization.

Candidates with any specialty in art history outside of the European tradition are encouraged to apply. The Department is particularly interested in candidates whose research expertise is in the subfields of African, Latin American, Indigenous, South Asian, or Islamic art. The qualified candidate will join an interdisciplinary faculty and contribute to our curriculum by developing and teaching one-half of a global survey of the history of art and three courses across different levels in the candidate’s area of specialization. Candidates must possess a PhD or be ABD at the time of the appointment and show scholarly promise as well as a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching. Job Description

SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Director of Systems and Infrastructure, the Technical Operations Manager Creative Arts & Technology (CAT) provides primary support for the CAT Division’s technology infrastructure and related applications in labs, classrooms, and other areas on the Bloomfield campus. This position works closely with the CAT Division and its technology support staff, the Technical Support Services (TSS) Endpoint Engineers, the CISO, and the Director of Networking and Communication Infrastructure.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage CAT Windows and MacOS X servers.

• Provide support for Adobe Products on CAT equipment and other Divisions and Offices in coordination with TSS.

• Provide local, hands-on support for Bloomfield campus CAT devices in coordination with the TSS Endpoint Engineering team.

• Maintain, set up, and repair of Motion Capture systems.

• Maintain, configure and repair printers 3D, Laser and Specialized printers.

• Work closely with CAT Facilities Manager / Audio Technologist to integrate, maintain and repair audio technology.

• Assist the CAT Facilities Manager and CAT Support Technician as needed with Equipment Lab, equipment maintenance, usage, and repairs.

• Research new technology suitable for CAT to remain technologically advanced and competitive.

• Provide workshops and training, as requested.

• Attend weekly and monthly CAT Divisional meetings.

• Work with any student employees who may be assisting with the day-to-day CAT operations.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Management retains the right to add or change job duties at any time.

QUALIFICATIONS:

REQUIRED: 

• A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Information Technology field or relevant field.

• Three years of professional experience in systems and/or network administration and support, preferably in an institution of higher education or related field.

• Familiarity with common networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc) and how they are applied to servers and client devices.

• Working knowledge of server operating systems such as Unix/Linux, Windows Server and MacOS.

• Ability to work a flexible schedule which may include evenings and weekends to fulfill responsibilities.

PREFERRED:

• Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Windows systems administration skills.

• Experience and/or exposure to security operations through work experience within any IT discipline and/or security certification and training.

• General understanding of motion-capture facilities and related technologies.

• Familiarity with various 3D printing technologies and experience using 3D printers and laser cutters.

• Knowledge of client management tools such as Intune and JAMF.
