EDUCATION

Essential

It is essential jobholders are educated to NVQ or SVQ level 2/3 in sports coaching or equivalent.

They must also hold up to date appropriate national governing body qualifications or equivalent and be prepared to update if and when required.

EXPERIENCE

Essential

Excellent interpersonal skills and practical experience in delivering the specific coaching sessions to young people/specific target groups is also essential. The Jobholder must also have experience of designing and delivering sports/coaching programmes and lessons.

To be fully competent in the role, the jobholder must have excellent knowledge or practice drills and exercises relevant to the post and have knowledge of the National Governing Bodies programmes policies and practices. They must have an understanding of the sports development pathways and award schemes associated with specific sporting disciplines.
