Job Description

As a Business Developer, you will be an informal leader of a 3-member micro-team. With a Production Engineer, who takes care of the production process and quality, and a Supply Planner who handles logistics. Based on the analysis, you will draw up an action plan once a year to reduce production costs and to develop better design for the customers, all within the framework of sustainability and ethical business practices. 
You can expect to:

• Develop partnerships with suppliers – The micro team travels regularly, in order to solve production issues and to provide suppliers with feedback and help with the implementation of the action plan.
• Create production calculations – Look for cost saving opportunities for both existing and new products.

About the role
As a Material & Technology Engineer within Material and Innovation, you will play an important role in the journey towards our 2030 goal. You will work to investigate and introduce alternative comfort materials, supporting the movement to our sustainable targets, anchored in Material Direction. You will work with internal and external stakeholders towards more sustainable product development for IKEAs products and help to build roadmaps to meet the Material Direction goals. You will be responsible to initiate and lead material related development projects and work closely with Material & Innovation Developers. You will be an important link to the product development teams and Range Innovation to secure the implementation of new materials and innovations. You will also secure knowledge sharing and lead material direction related trainings; for example, helping to understand the best material-application fit and making better material choices.

As a Production Engineer, you will secure and support the engineering and quality agenda with the overall goal to improve the customer satisfaction. As part of the business team, you will work with suppliers to: develop and secure the production process, handle quality deviations and secure compliance to all IKEA requirements.

The Production Engineer in IKEA Components is the main contact towards the suppliers for Quality & Engineering and works as part of a business team to develop and secure production process, handling quality deviations and securing compliance to all IKEA requirements.

Production Engineer will together with a team:

• Secure Quality Assurance including supporting for implementing process control for key processes in production
• Perform product audits and production risk assessments at supplier
• Lead the running range at the suppliers and sub-suppliers to secure full compliance of IKEA requirements
• Lead the supplier development for quality and manufacturing with responsibility to identify and implement actions and execution of Supplier Development Process projects
