As member of the Systems Engineering team in Optasia, you will be responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure. This individual participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure. This individual ensures that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational values, enabling staff, volunteers, and Partners.

What you will do

  • Manage inventory of technology assets
  • Assist in the management of virtualization infrastructure
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation of processes and procedures
  • Manage daily issues and requests while performing infrastructure maintenance tasks
  • Conduct scheduled system checks and perform maintenance in accordance with the scheduled support windows
  • Monitoring and maintenance of backup system
  • Coordinate hardware replacement remotely

What you will bring

  • BSc/MSc degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field will be considered a plus
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well with others
  • Understanding of TCP/IP basics like IP addressing, subnets, VLANs
  • Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills both Greek and English
  • Troubleshoot issues and outages
  • Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude
  • A strong desire to learn and grow
  • Understanding of networks and network routing
  • Experience in working with secure code development guidelines and coding practices (i.e. OWASP, NIST)
