About the department

Novo Nordisk is a global company with more than 42,000 employees around the world. Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei (MSB) is a cluster affiliate that has established a strong foothold as market leader in diabetes care, haemophilia and growth disorder in the last 20 years.

The division is a newly created department that provides you the opportunity to build the obesity franchise through successful launch of innovative medicine that addresses high obesity prevalence in this market.

This is a newly created position based at Northern region. This job offers great opportunity to improve people’s lives as the obesity prevalence in Malaysia is the highest in Southeast Asia. You will report directly to the Obesity Commercial Manager.

The Job

As a Senior Product Specialist, you are the front liner representing the company, who will discuss the benefits and features of Novo Nordisk’s products with healthcare professionals. You have a designated territory you are responsible for and are accountable for the financial and non-financial targets of your territory.

You are given autonomy to conduct territory business plans, suggest and discuss relevant action plans with your manager, and implement the agreed action plan in collaboration with marketing, medical and colleagues within the function effectively to drive overall financial and non-financial performance of your territory.

You are required to maintain up-to-date information on customers and competitive landscape, and report all these information into the company’s system in a timely manner. You are also required to actively take part in exhibitions, symposiums and congresses as needed, in order to drive high awareness of disease management and knowledge of products among healthcare professionals, and to strengthen customers’ relationship.


To be considered for the role you should possess a Bachelor's Degree in Science or equivalent with strong interest in Pharmaceutical Sales. Having at least 3 year of pharmaceutical field sales experience in Northern region will be an added advantage.

As a person you are a self-starter, goal-getter, highly engaged and positive, dynamic with excellent networking abilities. You have strong ethical conduct and are at the same time creative. You are able to work independently and willing to quickly adjust to new situations in a continuously developing environment.

You are fluent in both English and Bahasa Malaysia (verbal and written), hold a valid driving licence and possess your own vehicle. You are willing to travel extensively.
