This role is in the Chipsets Silicon Group (CSG) whose charter is to deliver the Platform Controller Hub (PCH) product line along with potential companion dies to build best in class chipset solution. PCH is the South Complex die that gets paired with Intel Core & Xeon CPUs to create a variety of computing platforms such as servers, desktops, laptops, 2-in-1's, embedded/industrial, etc. We support the CCG line of client products, DCG line of server products, as well as portions of the IOTG product line. Chipsets contain numerous high speed I/O controllers (USB, PCI Express, SATA, Ethernet, etc.), low speed I/O controllers (spi/espi, THC, I2C/I3C, UART), embedded subsystems (Audio, Sensing, Security, Power Management, etc.) and other SoC components which come together to form the feature set of that platform.

The Micro-Architecture team is responsible for providing technical leadership in the development of high quality and feature rich Chipset products. We identify and solve technical problems to keep our product pipeline moving forward while driving continuous improvement to Chipset design and methodologies.

We are looking for a quality-focused senior design engineer to join us in this effort.

Typical responsibilities for a micro-architect may include:

- Build expertise in and own the development of a specific area of our SoC infrastructure (IOSF Fabrics, Clocks & Resets, Power Management, Boot & Reset Flows, GPIO's, etc.)

- Lead the technical development of SoC-level features & strategic initiatives

- Develop micro-architecture for SoC-owned blocks of logic

- Build a strong technical understanding of specific IP's and develop expertise in how those IP's fit into SoC & platform level flows

- Provide day-to-day technical guidance and mentoring for SoC integration & validation teams

- Collaborate with pre- and post-silicon validation teams on validation strategies, test plans, coverage matrices, debug, quality reviews, etc.

Qualifications

- Bachelor Degree, Master's Degree Preferred in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science with a focus on hardware design

- 7+ years of experience designing or validating SoC's, CPU's, or IP blocks required, experience with Chipset products or IP's integrated into Chipset is a plus

- Knowledge of Hardware Description Languages (System Verilog, Verilog, or VHDL) and Static Timing Analysis.

- Experience with Design Quality checks and methodologies like Clock Domain Crossing (CDC), Lint, etc.

- Experience with IP integration and/or SoC-level flows a plus, including clocking, boot/reset entry, power management, DFx, Security, IOSF fabrics, etc.

- Experience with both pre-silicon and post-silicon product development stages highly desired Inside this Business Group
