This position is based at BASF PETRONAS Chemicals' Sdn Bhd, a RM3.4 billion joint venture that combines the innovative strengths and capabilities of two well-established Fortune 500 companies, BASF SE (60%), the world's leading chemical company and PETRONAS (40%), Malaysia's fully integrated energy company with a wide network of operations around the world. Established since 1997, BASF PETRONAS Chemicals' 'verbund' (integrated) chemical production facility is sited in Gebeng, Kuantan, Pahang Darul Makmur. OBJECTIVES Lead the development of remuneration strategy to attract and retain employees in alignment to BPC's short term and long term business growth and sustainability. MAIN TASKS Remuneration Strategy
  • Lead the consultancy and advisory role on compensation and benefits framework, policies and guidelines by developing remuneration philosophy, principles, strategies and action plan.
  • Review and design the yearly bonus and increment ratio to ensure it is in-line with the performance return of the company and the individual staff to build performance culture in the Company.
  • Propose tangible and intangible remuneration and reward; and provide guidance on the market practice, statutory requirement and internal equity matrix within the business as to maintain competitiveness and fairness to all staff to deliver as per KPI.
Compensation Management
  • Lead and drive the development or implementation of cash compensation (total cash rewards)
  • Drive the development and revision of salary structure and Terms & Conditions (T&C) by providing guidance and advise to the Executive Management Team (EMT) and HR Business Partner (HRBP) on the framework and process of developing and reviewing the salary structure with the T&C.
  • Ensure consistency practice and revision of the proposal for EMT's endorsement to ensure the remuneration philosophy, principles and guidelines are uphold.
Benefits Management
  • Lead and drive the development and implementation of employee's benefits for all category by providing advice, guidance and capability development including ensuring the principles and guidelines are in line with the business strategy to create a harmonious and conducive working environment.
Delegates and Secondees Management
  • Drive and develop a strategic process or work stream for BASF's delegates / PETRONAS's secondees upon approval of appointment.
  • Lead and design the standard remuneration package for the delegates / secondees in order to expedite and standardize the whole remuneration process.
Monthly Payroll Process
  • Ensure 100% accurate payroll process is executed timely.
Benchmarking and Reporting Management
  • Undertake report development, issues and propose mitigation and/or recommendation for EMT's decision making by analyzing the information consolidated, benchmarking with the relevant industries and comply with the statutory or other legal requirement including tax management to ensure the management has full comprehensive outlooks from internal and external to make the best decision for the success of the company.
HRIS / SAP HR / Data Integrity
  • Drive the implementation of system to HRBP to ensure smooth enforcement and execution of the said system.
  • Lead, study and benchmark system efficiency, stability and data integrity if situation required.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Degree in HRM/ Business/ Finance/Admin or equivalent from a recognized university
  • Minimum 6 years working experience with managerial capacity in HR for medium or major corporations.
  • Demonstrates passion and enthusiasm to motivate, lead and empower team to achieve goals
  • Excellent public relations, communication and analytical skills with a high ability to develop business strategy and manage implementation.
  • Good command of written and spoken English / Bahasa Malaysia with excellent presentation skills.
