Assistant Manager - Tool Shop

B. Braun is looking for qualified competent driven Toolmakers with deep knowledge in multi cavity injection Mould Tooling utilized in medical device manufacturing. Our Toolshop is a very busy environment focusing on high cavitation complex mould tooling and currently we are looking for an experienced Toolmaker who has managerial experience to join our experienced team with a long term view of assuming an Assistant Manager position. Your responsibilities

  • As required obtain quotations from vendors for tooling requirements to meet business needs.
  • Ensure that quality of incoming spare parts is according to specified tolerances.
  • Ensure that minimum quantity spare parts are according to agreed upon and documented quantities.
  • Ensure the compliance of activities to B. Braun quality systems, working procedures and SOPs.
  • As required make sure that the Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) are executed in the given time frame and that the implemented Change Control System is observed.
  • Ensure that all documents of the area of responsibility are kept up to date, filled up correctly and are in full compliance with all applicable requirements (SOPs are correctly applied and all concerned personnel is trained/re-trained).
  • Keep informed about all applicable requirements (GMP, FDA, ISO 9001, ISO 13485, all applicable regulations about work safety, etc.) and to ensure that all operations in your area of responsibility are compliant with these regulations.
  • To ensure Health, Safety and Environmental Policies are being adhered to at all times.
  • To represent the department and Company in meetings, visits and audits as appropriate.
  • The achievement of agreed personal and team objectives.
Your qualifications

  • Time served apprenticeship in Toolmaking/ machining holding recognized qualifications in this area.
  • Demonstrable experience working within a busy Tool Shop environment.
  • Having a management exposure and experience.
  • Experience of high value, high cavitation Injection Mould Tooling.
  • Practical experience working within a Tool Shop inside a medical device organization is (desirable).
  • Understanding of mould tooling hot runner systems with ability to diagnose faults with systems.
  • Knowledge of machining practices (desirable).
  • Basic electrical knowledge (desirable).
  • Significant and demonstrable knowledge of Injection molding tooling and associated ancillary equipment, and how it interacts with the product.
  • Highly organized.
  • Highly logical thinking and a creative approach to problem solving.
  • Ability to manage detail in defined work area.
  • Management and resolution of conflict.
  • Interpretation of 2D design data.
  • Supplier evaluation, selection and management.
  • Experienced with safe working practices, Technical and HSE risk assessments and management.
  • Experience in medical device manufacture.
  • Strong communication skills (written and oral).
  • Ability to summarize, consolidate and report effectively.
