Reporting to GM Legal

Main Role & Responsibilities:

LEGAL SERVICES & ADVISORY

Provide legal services and legal advice to the Group of companies

MANAGEMENT OF LITIGATION AND DISPUTES AND EXTERNAL COUNSEL

Select, appoint and manage the performance of external counsels in cases where they represent the Group of Companies, locally and abroad, to ensure the interest of Group is protected with minimum legal costs, taking into account commercial and operational requirements,

NEGOTIATIONS

An adviser to the Group negotiating teams, lead and supervise counsels who are members of negotiating teams in order to attain the most favorable position for the group in business deals such as company strategic alliances (e.g. joint venture, mergers and acquisitions).

LEGAL POLICIES AND PROCEDURES

Formulate and strategize the development/ reviewing of the legal policies and procedures on maritime, offshore oil and gas business, other relevant corporate matters and operational activities and ensure its adherence to protect the Group's interests.

REGULATORY AND LEGAL COMPLIANCE

Provide legal advice to facilitate compliance with applicable international and local laws, rules and regulations concerning Company's business activities.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:

Requirements:
  • Malaysia passport holder or permanent resident.
  • Around 9 years of experience, preferably with Maritime industry exposure.
  • 2nd class upper minimum LLB.
