Role Summary/Purpose

Works projects in a technical domain as a technical expert or internal consultant. Works on projects for components of the domain. Works across one technical or functional domains. Participates in the domain technical and business discussions relative to future architect direction.

Essential Responsibilities

In coordination with Steam PAC Cybersecurity Center of Excellence, she/he is the regional reference for Steam Power Business in the application of Cybersecurity in Control systems and Digital solutions.

Demonstrates accountability for functional, business and broad company objectives involving PAC (Power Automation & Controls) in the field of Industrial Cyber Security.

Participates with the Cybersecurity team CoE to the definition of the technical requirements of the engineered solutions for Industrial Cyber-security solutions and insures the requirements are met.

Her / his contribution is particularly relevant for the implementation of the NERC CIP Security requirements applicable in Asia

Creates, integrates, and maintains Cyber security assessment in the region and is in charge to implement processes that meet business needs across the organization and mentors regional engineers on their use.

Lead and provide the key technical direction to projects with critical business impact and significant challenges in cyber-security.

With the vision of Asia's market, participates with the Cybersecurity team CoE to the definition of the state of the art in own technical speciality in order to anticipate, apply, adapt or develop technologies for current and future business needs, in line with market.

Support and provide technical consultation to other GE businesses, internal & external customers, and suppliers as required, for Asia's region.

Implement Design Practices related to Industrial cyber-security and mentor others on their use, contribute to the definition of standard solutions for the Business.

Support teams in performing technical reviews and lead and/or participate in these reviews.

Effectively communicate and build recommendations through the analysis, synthesis and presentation of technical data to internal and external GE customers.

Insures the relationship with internal or external cyber-security Asia authorities in relation to the compliance of the control and digital solutions to cyber-security standards and requirements.

Insures the monitoring of cyber-security alerts and takes appropriate mitigation actions.

Provide technical guidance, direction and training to new and experienced engineers, specialists, and technicians.

Assist technical teams in evaluating complexity versus robustness, maintainability, etc.


Master degree of Science Computer and network cyber-security and/or equivalent experience

Significant experience in an engineering capacity

Certified or qualified on NERC CIP Security Compliance norm

Desired Characteristics

CISSP certification or equivalent.

Significant practical experience in field of application of cyber-security discipline to industrial control solutions.

Strong knowledge of industrial control architectures, including real time networking constraints, industrial communication protocols, and specifically protocols used in power generation plants and power grids.

Experience in leading the development or developing cyber-security related documents like threat analysis and projects cyber-security plans.

Organizational skills required to manage multiple projects and/or activities and to deal with technical projects either executed personally or with local staff or with remote staff.

Strong oral and written communication skills

Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

Problem analysis and resolution skills

Demonstrated leadership in defining the state of the art in at least one technical speciality, along with the ability to teach and set standard practices within this field related to Industrial cyber-security.
