Job Description

Position Summary:

Ensure reliable supply of assigned technical materials, equipment and services at competitive terms and the required level of quality based on a sound procurement strategy for all relevant sites in Asia Pacific in close alignment with the needs of internal Business Partners across the sub-region and in accordance to internal and external regulations. This position will also provide a centralized, key role in the successful interaction between Procurement and internal and external customers to ensure an efficient process application for obtaining and managing the materials needed for manufacturing a product and service delivery.

Main Responsibilities:

1. Procurement & Strategies
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the business objectives and needs of the internal Business Partners with regard to the assigned technical materials and services.
  • Regularly analyze procurement conditions for key materials and services and initiate sourcing activities for supply alternatives to ensure competitive pricing and avoid single source situations.
  • Implement procurement and supply strategies for technical materials and services to achieve optimal terms at the required level of supply security for sites in Asia Pacific by actively looking for savings / synergies.
  • Work very closely with P2P team to resolve difficulties arising in the placement and delivery of purchase orders in an efficient and timely manner for indirect services.
  • Implement strategies, if applicable in close alignment with the Local / Regional Buyer, by defining strategic measures for GBSP, regularly monitoring the implementation status and taking corrective actions or updating the strategy if necessary.
2. Negotiation and Contract Management (S2C) – LVS Limit
  • Independently prepare and conduct negotiations with suppliers for assigned materials and services as per preferred vendor list provided by the local procurement team.
  • Conduct S2C support in close collaboration with Local Buyer.
  • Work with internal Business Partners to harmonize specifications and decrease complexity e.g. by reducing the number of suppliers.
  • Perform parts of RFQ preparation and conduct RFQ execution.
  • Challenge existing practices and make recommendations concerning improvement to standardizing and streamlining processes
  • Provide timely analysis and resolution to issues relating to invoicing and order placement.
3. Compliance and Processes
  • Ensure that all procurement activities are in compliance with relevant policies and procedures and documented properly to achieve excellent and consistent quality of work results, avoid compliance issues and allow for traceability of actions. Included activities:
  • Execute procurement activities in line with policies and procedures (e.g. KC Procurement Guideline, company procedures, Code of Conduct, trade controls, etc.).
  • Actively seek opportunities for continuous improvement to increase operational excellence and improve documentation of processes.
  • Support the optimum use of procurement tools and systems e.g. Supplier Portal.
Qualification, Experience and Other Requirements:
  • Minimum Degree in engineering (especially mechanical, electrical), Qualification in business management or supply chain will be of advantage.
  • Minimum 2-3 years’ work experience in procurement of technical materials / services, engineering or similar areas.
  • Excellent oral and written communication in Vietnamese & English.
  • Additional proficiency in any one of the languages Mandarin, Korean, Thai and Bahasa Indonesia is of advantage.
  • SAP system knowledge.
  • Expertise in procurement methodologies and processes as well as negotiation tactics.
  • Good knowledge of business, finance and supply chain concepts.
  • Good communication and presentation skills.
  • Competency in computer applications, especially MS Excel and MS PowerPoint; knowledge of SAP MM of advantage.
