  • Performs operation and troubleshooting requiring deep technical level expertise in corresponding to virtualization technical areas. ( VM guest OS: Windows 2003, Windows 2008 and Windows 2012R2 servers platform ).
  • Supporting
1000 Guest OS Servers remotely across the globe running on VMWare, DELL, EMC and cluster servers.
  • Charter for IT service management activity including Incident Management, Change Management and Problem Management.
  • Handle Severity 1 & 2 Incident which impacts the business clients with quick resolution time.
  • Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for high severity incidents – Includes identifying root cause resolution and to implement workaround and corrective actions – analyze debug log, dump file and engage vendor for hardware related fixes.
  • Request For Change (RFC) initiator, planner and implementer for incident/problem resolution, business requirement or based on client request.
  • To attend daily/weekly Incident, Problem and Change Meeting with counterparts and clients.
  • Server monitoring – Event log, Monitor CPU / Memory / Network Utilization / monitoring agent tools configuration including thresholds and certain criteria specifications.
  • Demonstrate leadership and offer technical expertise on daily task for those with less experience - provide training to junior/new employee on common issue such as incident handling process, change process, backup/restore process, process involved in handling high severity issue, root cause finding and corrective action that needs to be taken.
  • Actively dealing with the business client, and internal technical counterparts via email, web conference and phone calls for daily BAU support tasks.
  • Prepare and create technical document in relate to the complex technical issue and knowledge management capturing process for other teammate as learning curve.
  • Actively and participating on the VMWare host technology update in term of version upgrade/update and patching remediation.
  • Being the technical person in touch and solution in relate to VMWARE product knowledge resources focusing on VMware vSphere ESXi host, Virtualization Cloud product, and other near-coming technology enhancement.
  • Being the technical person that able to provide technical solution and recommendation on vSAN deployment and network NSX implementation.
  • Related Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 5-7 years systems engineering experience, including 2 years experience in a medium to large (25 – 50 servers and/ or 3000+ users) telecom and/ or open systems environment performing
  • Knowledge of networking fundamentals:
  • Familiarity with most aspects of systems/ software administration, such as System installation and configuration security, installation of third-party software, etc.
  • Working knowledge of: inter-process communication, devices and drives, file system concepts,
  • Citrix experience: XenDesktop, XenApp, EdgeSight, Softgrid/App-V, VDI, Application Packaging and Publishing, Provisioning Server
  • Familiarity with fundamental networking/ distributed computing environment concepts; basic routing concepts
  • Scripting knowledge

  • Analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to write purchase justifications
  • Training and presentation skills
